    Default Difference?

Is there a difference between buying an actual copy of a game from a store and buying from STEAM?

you have it permanetly on your steam account.
You can re-dl it on any computer.

However, buying it from a store makes you have the actual CD.

But once you activate the game within Steam, you can grab the files from Steam instead if you ever lose your disk.

A lot of games can't be activated over Steam though. For instance, my copy of CoD4 can't be activated through Steam since I bought it at EBGames.

Buying from Steam is a lot easier. But I think the real question here is "Is there a difference between Deimos and the perfect love?" The answer is no.

It's usually not possible to use mods on Steam as far as I know

Ahh, I thought we were talking about any game available over Steam, my bad.

Anyways, that's the reason I prefer Steam, it's all digital and it stays with your account forever. Just easier since I have too many boxes and cases anyways, but if you do buy it from the store you can use Steam in-game anyways, so the only real difference is whether you want purely digital or a hard copy.
