Default Anyone Ever Have Something Like This Happen?

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, I started listening to "punk rock" music. I'm gonna say 6th grade, so in the year 99 or 2k.

I found AFI that summer, and fell in love. They were the best band going.

I got all their albums, a lot of vinyl RARE stuff etc etc.

A few years later, they leave their record label (Nitro) and sign with whoever they have now.

They put out "Sing the Sorrow" which gets some radio play. It still has the good sound I expect from AFI, but a bit too...eh...different for me. I like the album though.

Then they put out "Decemberunderground" which made me want to kill myself. Totally sold themselves to MTV and every other thing and whored their music to the radio.

I drew the line when I heard Miss Murder on "Hot 107.9".

They were my favorite band. I loved them but they just lost all my respect when they sold out like that.

Anyone here betrayed by their favorite band?

System of a down. Except...it wasn't their music, it was their split and Dan's way of trying to be bad *** making a band called Scars on Broadway.

    ****ing douche.

Linkin Park with Jay-Z and onwards.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

I was 12 years old. My favorite bands were ACDC and Metallica.

I met a kid named Tanner and we became best friends. His step dad was a big Guns N Roses fanatic, and after spending so much time over there, the band grew on me. They became my favorite band (and still are, but with less respect) and I bought all their albums, tshirts, posters, dvd's, everything. For years and years I loved them, until November of this year when the long awaited Chinese Democracy CD came out. That entire album is just... horrible. No old members (except buckethead), mainstream sound and Axl's aged and even more haggard voice.

Still have the love, just no respect.

Sigh.. what happened to the old GNR?

Yeah, A Perfect Circle with "eMotive" and AFI with "December Underground". Yeah dude, Back when AFI was with Nitro they were the shit. But anywho.. After they went.. Well, Sold out, I found a band called Failure. They're pretty cool. Kind of a pop-rock-punk band.

Speaking of AFI, I actually liked AFI all the way through, until now even. I guessed they changed when I changed, it was cool.

I haven't really experienced anything like that. Most artists I find only have 1 or 2 songs worth listening to, so I never keep up-to-date with any of them.

Although, I was a little let down by Pendulum's second album. It's a great album, but it just sounds nothing like the Pendulum I've come to love.
