The only grunge band I have ever liked is Alice in Chains.

oh, and Evanescence and Linkin Park were the first music I liked that wasn't classic rock or soundtrack music, actually. I think they qualify as hard rock.

I went off Evanescence when their follow up album turned out to be horrible, though. I still like the song Imaginary off of Fallen, though.

I don't really care about Linkin Park anymore. I don't actively dislike them, I just don't care.

Anyways, Alice in Chains. The song is called Rooster.

oh. Well I love metal. I don't like stuff like, um, I dunno, Korn, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson.

I prefer stuff like Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Amon Amarth, dream Theater, Pain of Salvation, and Skyclad and Sabbat. Underground stuff basically, with an emphasis on folk and prog metal. the mainstream of metal is full of shit for the most part.

oh, except for good stuff from back in the eighties like Iron Maiden, Van Halen, and Judas Priest. They were all great bands, especially Maiden.

This was the song that got me into metal, though (old CoF is good)

Love all rock. Except for bands who don't know how to use chords, melodies, and harmonies properly. Other than that, I'm all for any type of rock.

To answer his question straight up, music nowadays sucks compared to older music.

Hard rock isn't limited to the '60s and '70s, Civil.
