    I dunno what you mean by theoretical backlash, but I do like to say, "merry day of birth" to people. :P

    I was just referring to how I think smoking a pipe looks more sophisticated than smoking a cigar.

    I dunno, I'd say it all comes down to specifics, such as what sort of pipe the person would be smoking out of versus the maker of the cigar, the type of tobacco being smoked and the wrapper of the cigar, not to mention how they're smoking.
