Which download accelerators do you think r the best?

Well I like using BitComet

I don't use flashget cause it dosent work 4 me

Flashget owns, I've been using for a long time now, never failed me.

Flashget and Wellget (basically a copy of Flashget, using it now since Flashget keeps crashing on me)

When I need to, I use Star Downloader. Works very well.

Do those actually make the downloads faster?? I used FlashGet and it didn't really seem much faster than just downloading normally..

I use utorrent for torrents since bitcomet seems to eat much more cpu and internet bandwidth than needed (from my experience at least).

I use Flashget if i am downloading a large file such as a game client

I use Rapidshare Manager if i was to download anything off rapidshare

QFT. If the server allows it to, it'll break the download into sections so you'll get a big boost on speed.

If you are downloading through sites like fileplanet, filefront etc download accelerators will NOT work. You need sites that actually allow multiple connections simultaneously.

I use orbit downloader. Speed increases from 100-300kb/s to 900kb/sec-1.5mb/sec etc .. depending on the sites.

I use FlashGet, but rarely since most sites dont allow it.

it is indeed a lot faster...imagine the speed of what you download in one file times 5.

Also,from my exp, downloading .exe files like MMORPGs or w/e with Download accelerators can corrupt the program especially the larger the file the higher that chance so you wont be able to use it to install.

Uh, Download Managers are supposed to (and do) cut that chance. Since I've started using FlashGet (it's been 3 or so years), I haven't received a single corrupted executable file.

Is there something wrong with it? Cause' not many of you seem to use it...
