ill post what google yielded and what i know
from my exp;
sata and ide basically dont need drivers (or come preinstalled already, dont know)
i can hookup other hdds and dvd players just fine without having to install something
google:
it might be in the bios;
either legacy (wich ill doubt)
or you need to change SATA to ATA and have your prob fixed (possibly, one hit with positive replies)
also google:
only resuls on this were dell pcs with vista preinstalled, all wanted to revert back to xp
some said to install xp on c: and vista on d: and the other way around
no direct drivers download links found, only request and that kind of stuff
