In my opinion, I feel that Final Fantasy 7 was overrated. I didn't see the omg epicness of it. It was a good game, just wayyy over hyped and to this day it still is.

Spore, this game was supposed to be great and just fail, so very hard.

yes halo is wayyy overrated.....WoW is way overrated too...any gta after gta3...gta3 was very unique...any other after that was just the same with a diff character

The only reason why ff7 was so hyped was because all the fangurls were orgasming over how "hot" cloud was.

While we're at it, let's throw ff10 into the list of overhyped.

for me it's everything involving Final fantasy in any form, taste or color

then it comes Halo franchise followed by World of warcraft as a game

I would consider MGS to be overrated to, but I'm guilty of enjoying the games too much to almost the point of "fanboy-ism"

People don't have to play a real instrument because they enjoy those games. It's two entirely different learning patterns.

Yeah, it just doesn't entertain me I guess. I just don't see them as exceptionally good games, it's just a glorified rhythm game living off the success and fame of actual musicians.

Yeah, damn Guitar Hero, endorsed by Slash and Tom Morello, who enjoy the game and are in them. How dare the franchise leech off their fame and/or credibility, which they attached to it due to them feeling it was a really fun medium?

Those musicians who, in turn, get paid exposure through those games. I bet Dragonforce are really perturbed at all the extra copies of Inhuman Rampage that they sold, on account of Guitar Hero.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing leeching off musicians, I didn't intend to come across that way. I meant that at the core of it, it's really just a rhythm game with a guitar shaped controller. There's no depth to it. The only reason it may appeal to people is because it can simulate the experience of playing popular music. There's nothing mind blowing about it, it's been redone a few times since the start of the franchise and it's really starting to get old.

I played 2 songs at my friend's place yesterday, then I couldn't stand it anymore, and I'm not even a regular player.

It's probably just me, I just find the whole thing to be totally not entertaining and overrated.To me, it simply isn't that amazing as everyone seems to makes the experience out to be.

Just Halo for me. I pretty much agree with most ratings or popular thoughts on other games.

I dont like WoW, but I can see why it would be very popular, dont understand all the hate. Same with MGS4, love that game myself (although it probably doesn't deserve the 10/10 rating it got on gamespot), but I dont consider it all that overrated.

IMO, a lot of you guys are being a little elitist.
