MMORPG Player Made Videos and Music Selection

Once upon a time, a fun little website named YouTube came to be. It was all the rage. People from all over the world began sharing videos of MMORPGs on this lovely website. Some of them had no audio and were just simple presentations of visual aspects. Some of them had unedited audio to share the experience whole heartedly. Some of them had their own music to replace the original. People took the liberty to use whatever their heart desired. Rock, jazz, metal, rap, orchestra, techno, trance, foreign music, and sometimes even music from other video games.

This fun little YouTube website grew and grew, and eventually the users began developing opinions on people's music selection. It seems that no matter where you turned, you could see at least one arrogant freak derailing the music selection of a video while ignoring the actual video itself. This trend grew and grew with the community of YouTube until it became as common as having 8 fingers and 2 thumbs.

Today, it is impossible to post a video without having only the music selection be judged, even if its the game's original soundtrack, and the video ignored. Today, I'm going to ask YouTube viewers what song genres they cannot stand to hear in a video of an MMORPG. I will also demand a reason why, but will probably not receive a response on this part of the question.

My main nit pick would have to be at metal. I don't think metal suits the feel of many MMORPGs. When I hear some guy abusing a set of drums and freaking out on a guitar, it's just far too distracting.

But by throwing the vote on Japanese rock, it must be the category that annoys you the most. If you don't have reasons to dislike, then why not give a shot at liking it?

Thanks for helping me reach the conclusion that I was after ricktard.

People who watch videos and hate the music usually just haven't heard it enough, never gave it a chance, or heard a bad sample (in which every category of music has a bad sample) and stereotyped the category of music based on that one instance.

Other people dislike music because it's "overused." But...what music is not overused? Music has been around for a very long time. It's hard to be completely original in your selection. I've seen a common trend of people hating on Japanese music and Asian music because some people think the video creators just slap a japanese song onto their video without undestanding what it means. Well, how could that be a grounds for judgement when that person hating on the music doesn't know what it means either? As far as I'm concerned, music from foreign countries should actually be a rarity and something to be appreciated. It's interesting to see how people accept so little but expect so much.

Before you type that hater comment on a video to trash on the music or close a YouTube page because the song is horrible, try this:

Think. Why is it that this song annoys me? Why this song, for this video, at this moment? Do I really have reason for hating it, or am I just supporting other stereotypes that were created by others than myself?

The main point of my thread was to ask people...just why, why do people have such low tolerance when they can't even understand what their own ears like and dislike?

Personally,its not the genre of a song i dont want to hear,but just a specific song.

I can enojy a song from any genre,but particular songs are what i dislike to hear.So i guess i can't really vote

It all depends on the song. If you were like me and heard a bad song from that certain genre you would automatically hate that genre. I hated metal and j rock but after hearing certain songs i can see that i was foolish to hate all of it. I love rap also but that doesn't mean i like every rap song. Just look around and you should find a song in that genre that will change your mind.
