I'm not blaming anyone :P. I didn't read the articles myself, but that's only because the site was a little cluttered for me.

    @Bryan
    Lulz! Great idea.

    Maybe not lol.

Anyway, if they can afford to dish out money for articles, they can afford to pay the mods.

I REALLY don't think it's cool that Sandman gets a check for never being here but lothia pratically runs the forums and the mods and doesn't get anything for it

Personally I don't think I'd like to be paid for doing this. That's a lot of pressure to be under.

I meant I wouldn't want to be paid for moderating. If I was a writer, I'd definitely like being paid.

Being paid would elevate moderating to a whole new level. I'd have to be on here alot more, for one thing, and I'd be even more paranoid about making mistakes.

@shard. nowai :P I work too hard to do that. I have to go to school you know :P.
Ok that statement alone told me that you don't need a degree to do your job.

and that you make enough money to pay for college and live on your own....

From a democrat view. What if the mods REALLY need it despite you working hard? Shouldn't you give it to peolple who need it more? Some of these mods are dirt broke.

Just like we should take money from the rich and give it to the poor.
    They work hard too.

I am assuming you are republican. Ke

.. I was getting a T-shirt too, but it never came in .

    wahhhhh*sobfest*

Lol Shard, can I say wth? First off, I'm Canadian. Secondly, I do not live on my own as I have just turned 18 a week ago. This is obviously not my full-time job. I'm using it to collect funds in order to go to university next year, as I was accepted in one of the most prestigious journalism schools in Canada. I sometimes work 20 hours a week on my part time job, and it is really paying off. Just because I don't want to throw my money away at the moderators. doesn't mean I do not appreciate them. This industry is all about talent. I don't have to be some 35 year old PHD graduate to work for the site.

Sandy might get paid a bit, myself and FabianN don't though (or at least I don't). This was a volunteer job at the beginning at least and that's how it still is for me.

It takes more effort to write an article than to log on to a site and ban people.

    No offense mods.

    You didn't answer my question.

I thought most people on onrpg.com were democrats? Are you yourself a republican? Would that mean that you don't support the rest of onrpg?

You stated that you worked to hard for your money to do that. However, the democrat idea is that you should take from those who have money vs those that need it.

or do you stick to that UNLESS it affects you? Which is it: democrat or republican

That may be. In that case should the mods get like some money less then Jammart?

I love you too. Hugs all 'round.

Honestly, in my experience (which isn't that broad, I'll grant you), usually mods aren't paid for the work they do, unless they work for an established company. I don't think I'd call onRPG a company, exactly.

    Ok, that changes it lol.

Anyway, ya it kinda sounds like:

I appreciate the mods but not too the point that I would actually give them money. However, other onrpg members can give THIER money to the mods.

I don't wanna get the wrong message so correct me

I am not one to pay anyone though. I'm merely a staff at onrpg.. I don't own anything. I can tell you personally that moderating is not that difficult. I've done it before many-a-time. Sometimes it can be stressful, but most actually find it amusing. I never even brought up talk that they shouldnt get payed. I luvs them, I would not harm a mod.

As for the members giving mods compensation.. : It was a joke. A mere humorous stunt performed by none but the amazing Byan.

Hmm two problems with this, first OnRPG is actually pretty diverse as weird as that may sound. A good 1/3 of the staff are Republicans and we respect them for that. As well about 1/3-1/2 of OnRPG is in someway religious/against abortion/believes in God. So I wouldn't say that OnRPG is mostly democrats. However most of OnRPG's democrats are much more vocal then the republicans because most stances that republican/democrat take place are social issues on this web (we rarely actually deal with economics unless one of a few of us brings it up).
As well one isn't required to declare themselves as either a Democrat or Republican they can be independent, socialist etc.

Finally someone who knows his stuff~~~ :P. Heh.

Seriously now, in some cases 50$ is a blessing. It truly depends on the quality, depth, and length of the article. Naturally, the longer you write, and the better you write, the more you will get paid!
