The reason her show does so well is cause she talks about things that are going on the in the world like celebs,obama,etc,like opera and montel.I remember she had a racist family on there.That episode made me watch 2 others cause the racists were brain washing there kids.Anywayz, her show aint anything like other shows like jerry springer and ricky lake.
I dont know if anyone has seen the new program on mtv where they show u how they get there people for the Jerry Springer show.The things they talk about on it are SOMETIMES true. 70% of the things they put on there are lies and 30 is acting.
When backstage they have some guy that tells them to act a certain way and be more angry or attack this person at some certain time during the show.

1. Model, doesnt even act enough to call a actor.

2. Congress not listening to u, especially about something that stupid. Plus, its a free market not a government run economy. Meaning businesses require what they want to require without the governments interference (unless its law, such as alcohol sales).

3. You see her show and decide u completely kno her as a person? Firstly, nothing is wrong with her show. She addresses real life issues and makes it fun. Its target audience is young adult, adult and older women, not you. U are in NO place to call her a moron. That show having an influence on American women isnt even a bad thing. She address issues that they deal with and tries to make them feel better about themselves. Your acting like shes sum big negative influence.

I get what you are saying and I agree with parts of it and what Werewolf and others have said, but this is what I think about the situation:

Not all of us black folk have that kind of mentality. I had that realization years ago when I was still a kid that christianity was used as a mental chain that on some of us has still not been broken. I'm also Native American as well so I have problems about a lot of the things they teach in our schools about the Pilgrims and Native Americans among other things.

Not all Americans are the ignorant, fat and lazy sterotype others make us out to be. I do agree that some of our television programs are intended to make us a bit stupid. Pretty much all "reality tv" is intended to do that. Then again TV is meant to Inform and Entertain more than it is to Educate. Last time I checked libraries are still open to the public and the information there is free.

Not all models are unintelligent, shallow, and need to have multiple degees to have a talk show. If people can relate and find some kind of guidance when dealing with situations from those kind of shows, I don't see any problems taking advice from someone who's probably had to deal with some of those issues in their own life time. Tyra Banks is more of a model than an actress anyway. Not that models can't be smart or anything ( A friend of mine modeled while attending college and is studying some really advanced crap).

I also realize this is in the wrong section and will most likely be moved soon. Sorry for keeping this going but I thought it was a bit interesting

The idea was that if everyone had the same view this would cause order and stability. People that tried to against their religion would cause havoc.
