I doubt it.
It's a single player game before it's a multiplayer one. It's probably going to have Lan and Online rooms.

Paying money?
For a game?
NAWWWWW
aaaww man thank god!!!!
No, im sure it'll just be B2P which im happy with.
Reputation: 21Not blizz's style + I dont think they'd be stupid enough to split up the suscribers to WoW and D3
Someone should say yes and put up random half-quote-truths and start a rumour going on... >_>
heck no bro
the game will cost like 100+ then the online fee sif
yea i played all of them but u never kno they might go a different way with the game u never kno times is changing games are chaging.
Most likely not, but after their money-hungry starcraft 2 trilogy bullshit, I wouldn't doubt it.
i'll just say yes so it makes egoodie's question somewhat legitimate.

There is a chance some features for Battlenet 2.0 may be monetized.
It's not really surprising considering it's a company that works to make profit after all. They aren't a community service company.
As for SC2 being triology, each trilogy will consist of 26~30 single player missions that will last for a long time and deliver an epic story for each races. They have no intention of making the trilogy into an expansion pack. Each game will be a full game. Whether you believe that or not is your decision to make. After all, we only know when Blizzard starts delivering their games and battlenet 2.0.
Reputation: 11where did you get that information that Diablo 3 would actually have a monthly subscription fee to go online? don't see why they would actually do that since blizzard aren't that money-hungry.
Lol It is not an mmorpg so why would it be p2p. Have you seen any game that has a monthly fee besides mmorpgs?
People would probably not buy the game if they have to pay to go online to quest and party.
People probably just start a HUGE hamachi like community and play from there.
Thought blizzard should start adding like an arena like feature. Kinda like in guild wars where you can PVP. It would be awesome!!!!!!!
Story rooms and Arena rooms![]()
Monthly fee or not, this game WILL be epic. The Diablo series have been my favorite games since like.......as long as I can remember. I wouldn't mind pitching in some money to help support game development like this. Blizzard is a great company, all there games are always high quality, I'd support them.
Blizzard made WOW, WOW is a p2p game because it's a great game, now let's give this a little thought.
If blizzard is going to make diablo 3, which they are, wouldn't they put some WOW features into diablo 3 since WOW was a big success.
So would they make it P2P just like wow?
I don't know :], But they might if they believe it will bring in more revenue.
unless blizzard wants to lose a whole bunch of fans, and completely change diablo then no...
Reputation: 30games are p2p for server bills and constant updates. aka mmorpg's. diablo is not an mmo and will be a one time 50 dollar fee.
well maybe this is going to be disapoitend but theres a rumour that blizzard will release D3 as B2P game but they are improving Battlenet to make it p2p, so in other words to play online you will need:
1- pay an aditional amount of money to use battlenet.
2- or its going to be P2P to use battlenet.
something similar to Steam, i dont remenber where i read this, i think it was in the blizzard forum while i was voting for the darktemplar model.
WotLK is B2P and P2P, i dont belieave that they are going to make a B2P game when they saw the succes of P2P games like WoW and hes expantion, they know that they are going to earn up to 3x-5x more money by making this games P2P than just B2P.
Don't be ridiculous. The B2P game is a single player RPG with multiplayer capabilities. The P2P game is an MMORPG which requires servers to maintained and game content to be continually created. Of course the P2P game requires more money hence their business model requires the player to pay every month.
Do you honestly think they will lose huge profits from people quitting WoW to play Diablo 3? Do you really think so? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?now but you need to think this, you got a lot of feedback from players who want to play this game, lets say millions and well you think this game is going to be a succes but you need to think that most of those players are playing your P2P game so if you have millions of players who are going to play the new game leaving the P2P game its going to be stupid to make it B2P cause you are going to losse thousands of continuos money each month, also you mention the succes of D2 yea it was a succes amd they earn millios, now lets make some mathematics:
It is ludicrous for a single player game with optional multiplayer to charge for it's multiplayer. Games have been coming with optional multiplayer with no additional fee for decades, if Diablo 3 were to do this, people would be very unhappy, and if noone's willing to P2P on the official Battle.net, you know piracy and private servers are going to spring up.now you said that you studied marketing so in you experience and your great knowlege you think that is wise to make it B2P? i dont think so. cause you make games for money no to fun the player, i dont said that i want to game be P2P im just saying the true that no one wants to accept they are posibilities that they make this game P2P and thats the true, lets pray that not, but dont lie yourself till we get a official anoucement.
And before you try to snub someone about their knowledge of business, please try to type properly.
It'll be like D2 if u ask me.
+1 support to b2p
o0o0 room based b.net lols they shulda make a warcraft four =/ need moar dota.

QFT though. But companies although fail when trying this do it for the simple fact that they know after people finish with the single player they will want to do the multiplayer and nowadays subscribing to games is a common thing.
But although i play/like blizzards other games at least i know ill be getting my moneys if i subscribe.
