Default I want to write a novel.

I've tried this a few times before, but it fell through every time.

I'm changing up the game plan a bit.

I'm looking for one other person to be my co-author.

    Any takers?

Co-authored books usually suck. I can't stand reading them. You can see the two influences of the author in the work, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but they don't always mix perfectly, or at all. Instead, it seems sort of schizophrenic, with one paragraph going one way, and the other paragraph going the other way.

But on subject, I don't think "changing the game plan" will help much. Either you have the discipline to be an author, or you don't, and adding "co-" to the author won't change that. First get the discipline, then try to be an author, or a co-author.

I think it was Edgar Allen Poe who said that writing is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

If people put the time into writing stories that they put into typing on forums, there would be more works of written literature than people.

    No, it was Thomas Edison.
    Pssht.

And people tell me it was Patrick Henry who said, "Give me liberty or give me death." Everyone knows that was Albert Einstein.

I personally think that if you are unable to write a novel yourself it'd be a bad idea to co-author. The point of the co-author is likely more to add ideas and writing styles to your collection, rather than to support your own (not being harsh here) inability to complete it.

You've got to learn to persevere and work it out yourself, as that's what writing is all about. Your ideas are what make up the basis of the story, but your hardwork is what makes it good

Co-authoring is tedious. Just write your own novel. You'll feel better about it when you're done.

    dont skip my post

I think instead of having a co-author, you should consider finding someone knowledgeable in the skills of editing and have them edit your stories.

Like me, personally I think im a good editor and i do write short stories, novels, and stuff of that sort. i have written short books (not published, of course) and i really do enjoy writing.

there have been some topics previously where i've posted short excerpts and questioned the readers in the way they interpreted it, such as this thread.

and the thread about rating the first couple chapters of one of the stories im working on.
though i'll tell you one thing, i always write fantasy stories. i tried others, except for sci-fi, and they just dont really fit my style of writing. i've always been writing short stories in the fantasy genre.

some book covers i did for one of the novels im writing, im choosing between one or two of them:
