    Default Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

    Old game, yes.
but I barrowed it from Gaika A HELLLAAA LONG TIME AGO
and just got to playing it.

    Who liked the game?
Some parts get a little tedious like when you have to run from city to city, but it's alright I guess.

Wolves attacked my horse halfway through the voyage, I got off, killed but attacked my horse in the process..... annd... it started attacking me.
So I had to waste a minute or two hacking away at it's legs.... running wasn't fun =(

If you havent played Oblivion, or any of the other Elder Scrolls games.

Maybe your best bet is to not play these.

They put so much content in these games they can sometimes get tedious.

And sure as hell start out slow.

To me, im an olddie gamer. I think the game is great.

Really fun. If you have some time to blow, and time to get super badass. End game gets fun.

    Really fun lol

    I like it =)
Went into a temple, killed a bunch of priests, got their loot.
    Got out.

Also going into all the underground dungeons is fun !!

I bought all 3 of the nwn2 games and two of the nwn1 games because they're so freaking awesome ;p It's just i kinda ran out of money after buying tes:4 so i just downloaded the expansion and forgot to back it up before i reformatted ;'(

Also to stay on topic - Anyone else find ranged weapons rather lacking at points? I've found it very hard to actually get through the game using only marksman. I ended up having to dabble a bit in swords and also a lot into stealth (wooh running in a corner of the jail cell ) just to succeed on harder difficulties. Yeah poisons help, but still :o

    @ 1st paragraph: It's understandable, no problems :3

@ 2nd paragraph: I find that the ranged weapons are fun for sneaking up on some enemies and shooting them in the back of the head. ALWAYS awesome. However; I agree that it is fairly impractical in tighter dungeons and such places. So I would use melee weapons on my supposed "ranger" characters too.

I had the same problem, Ithian.

Good thing that in Fallout 3 they made pretty much all of the weapon skills viable and equally badass, even Unarmed.

Eww unarmed in fo3? I could never have done that except on easy or something ;p I was happy with my laser rifle that i jacked off an enclave ;] Also (spoiler) the rifle from the history of museum was pretty freaking sweet too.

Only problem I had with fallout 3 was a lot of times I ran out of ammo and was left to resorting to weapons which i was weak with ( like melee weapons or large weapons ;x) In oblivion atleast you could just go buy a few hundred arrows and pick 'em back up and not worry about running down in 2 hours ;p

Heh sound a lot more fun than unarmed on oblivion ;p I remember doing the arena as it and getting owned seeing as I couldn't block any of their attacks. Ended up having to drop the difficulty down a few notches to survive without going through a ton of health pots @_@

I can give you a good unarmed build.

Max out Endurance, and don't put any points into Strength (unless a recent patch made Strength affect Unarmed damage, but as of a couple of months ago, it didn't. My cd stopped working so I haven't played in a while.)
Get 4 strength for the Iron Fist perk.
Get charisma as low as it can go.
Agility is decent at around 6 or so, and Intelligence should be maxed.

Tag unarmed, sneak, and one other skill of your choosing (maybe medicine or lockpicks would be the best.)

When you're at about level 4 or 6 you can get the Iron Fist perk, which adds five damage to your unarmed damage. Not percent, but real, hard damage. The going is a little tough until you get this perk, but after this it's smooth sailing.

Heh i think i'm actually done playing fo3 after I beat it the first time. I know there's a lot of possibilities in the replay but the ending really let me down - there's not consequence nor real representation of your actions. (spoiler) I mean you blow up a town, choose to lead the kids to slavery, slay the citizens, and then you can still go and save the world? I've hardly noticed a large amount of difference any of it plays to, besides feeling like you have the "power" of choice.

I started playing it again just recently, going on a quest to get all the relics and finishing Shivering isles because I never did in the past modded the crap out of the game too

my main complain about the game it's its shallow main storyline which sucked and more for me because I loved morrowind's main quests in every single way, but the rest of the game it's pure gold

I wish bethesda one day could remake morrowind with Oblivion's engine, morrowind's setup and land was 100th times better than main cydoriil

Morrowind with the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions and a few mods makes Oblivion look like an arcade game.

In morrowind the combat is all invisible dice rolls. There are no quest markers either, so I hope you're good at following directions in your journal that are usually wrong to find where you need to go.

In oblivion combat is real time. You hit something and it HITS them, same with them, no "lol u rolled a 1" crap. There is fast traveling and a compass with quest markers, so you can actually see where you need to go.

you've just invoked the wrath of the morrowind fans, who will flame you to no end to defend their dice roll game with questionable storyline, because it's obviously the best story line ever created and if you don't like it you fail and should diaf

Morrowind is more of a story driven rpg, whereas oblivion is more real time action fighting. Kinda like nwn2 motb (all story) and SoZ (more action). I've been noticing a lot of single player rpgs are slowly moving towards a more action orientated game :| I guess the good ol' DnD base is wearing off.
