Default Friday The 13th (movie, and day I guess)

Is anyone else planning on seeing this movie?

I love the classics, so I always have to go see it when they do remakes. I think Rob Zombie did a good job with Halloween...I really wish he'd gotten to do this one.

I don't care much for movie theaters, but this is gonna be one I have to see I think.

Unfortunately Friday the 13th (the day it comes out) is also my girlfriends birthday, so I have other things to do on opening night :c Maybe we can go earlier that day.

He's complaining about cookie cutter movies. Movies that are just uncreative rip-offs of another kind of movie or another movie specifically.

The only thing worse than that is Hollywood being able to get away with making a movie that already exists, again.

There's absolutely no excuse for THIS remake.

It's different...MAYBE...if it was just ONE movie. Friday the 13th had ten official installments, Oister. It had its chance and left its mark on pop culture, it doesn't need a reboot, which is what this is. A "reboot" combining elements from the first four movies.

Why? What's the point? Furthermore, the original ones were made at a time where they had purpose. The purpose being to do to promiscuous, drug using teenagers what Jaws did to swimmers. Who gives a shit about that now?

Are you going to stop getting high and having sex because you're scared Jason Voorhees might get you? People WERE, believe it or not, back in the day.

This is just ridiculous, and the more the viewing public make excuses, the more Hollywood will have reason to keep doing it.

The ORIGINAL movies were not even that great. There's a couple that are fun, or have fun parts, because Jason is cool. They were never great movies.

None of them were as good as Hellraiser, which Hollywood are ALSO remaking, without Doug Bradley as Pinhead.

You wanna know what Jason Voorhees looks like in the modern era? Watch Freddy Vs. Jason. That's essentially what this movie will be, but without Freddy. Just Jason going around, killing people. It's what it always was. There's nothing more to it, less so now. Halloween at least had a bit of a story, and even most of those sequels sucked.

Saw is the closest this generation has to a recurring horror franchise, and that shows you what this current generation is into. Substanceless, frivolous gore and nothingless.

Kids these days think they're hardcore for watching Hostel, by that gutless, Takeshi Miike fanboy that is Eli Roth.

Seriously. Save all of your money, go buy Audition or Ichi the Killer and actually watch a horror movie. Watch Tokyo Gore Police and watch a proper gore movie.

Don't sit there watching American horsecrap. Saying that movies suck now is like saying music sucks now.

I've seen you debate people saying music sucks because of all they see on TV, you're doing the same with movies. There are some amazing movies out there, you've just gotta look beyond America.

I'll never get tired of these classics though. I dunno what it is about them...maybe I like them simply because they ARE classics.

I don't know. :P But I'm gonna go see it either way. I might enjoy it, I liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre enough...so we'll see.

These aren't classics, though. They're remakes of "classics".

If you never get tired of them, why are you enjoying the remakes? None of this makes sense. It's just people bending over for Hollywood and making excuses, like some kind of beaten trailer home wife.

    "He loves me really.".

People go to see these movies for Jason, so they might as well have just done an eleventh Friday the 13th, as opposed to a remake.

People need to stop with the remakes, it's getting ridiculous.

America are remaking relatively recent Asian movies now, it's pathetic.
with new technology.. modern remakes will look better than the old 80s one or w/e O-o

    Can't say as I have.

I'm not really big into film, I like lots of different movies, but they are all pretty basic IMO.

In one of the interviews with the director, he said that they better explain how/why he uses the hockey mask or something like that.

I will definatly go see it.
