just out of curiosity should long distance relationships be taken seriously?
what if you met in an mmo?
what if you know you cant meet for like a year?
what does onrpg think?
what if you get pics? talked on the phone?

That being said I wouldn't reccomend it.
Any relationship that you want to last, should be taken seriously.
Will others take it seriously? In this day and age, it's a lot more accepted, but you'll still get the odd person like Avarance who doesn't understand the concept of modern life.
It takes a lot more than your average relationship, to make it work, but one could argue that it makes you value the time together even more so. One thing's for certain, it takes 10 times more trust than a regular relationship.
I think "online" relationships are bad, as in, ones that stay online with no plans to meet or progress. Meeting online, and using it as a main source of communication in between meeting, that's fine.

It's your life, you decide.
But for me, I think it's fine because my life is like a nomad so any kind of relationship is fine to me.

Its pointless to have a relationship strictly online.
You should only have one if you're going to eventually meet your significant other.
tl;dr NO
the answer is no.
ive met a girl on an mmo
i lived in texas, she lived in florida
ive met her irl once, ONLY because she was visiting relatives, and i was nearby.
(no, her family did not go out their way to meet a friend their daughter met online, she told me to meet her at a mall that her family was going to visit)
we have talked on the phone, and we know what each other looks like (from myspace and that one visit)
later on we figured out that MMO relationships are ridiculous and decided to move on. we are still friends though.
i highly advise you not to take on a long distance relationship unless u have enough time each day for a round trip tp visit her.
I'm in a long distance relationship but it's a different situation.
I was dating her for a year but then I moved.
We still visit each other every weekend though since I finally got my car.
But yea,
I take the relationship serious.
Honestly, it all depends on the circumstances. I knew two people who used to know eachother irl, but one moved away. They continued their relationship for as long as i know, and boy was there a lot of drama in that one...
but i guess they both loved eachother, so it sorta worked. i say sorta because i don't want to get into details about two other peoples personal lives.
anyways, i guess. If both people put enough effort into it, it works. Meeting over MMO's, and long distance relationships are two very different things.
As long as they have plans to be together after a while, sure. But if it stays as an online thing, then they can just do whatever.
Personally, i'd never have a long distance relationship but some people would.
Well, if you can meet at least twice a month then I think it's worth it, but once a year.. That is NOT a relationship. I know it's hard to "fall inlove" with somebody on the internet and then you face the reality, you're never going to see her because you live here and she lives there etc.
But, there are other ways to find love. Get out, talk to people! No need to be shy, you don't have anyhing to lose, trust me. =)
