I've resently been playing Chrono Cross, and let me say, it's AMAZING! I think it's mainly the story, and the awsome soundtrack that keeps me playing (battle music's still stuck i my head). One thing I have noticed, however, is how different it is from CT. The battle system has changed from an atb system, to a slower more stratigic system. Th graphicts have undergone a tramendouse improvment (though you can't beat the awsome sprite animation of CT, even with 3D graphicts), and the story is sounding alot more interesting (story in CT was great for it's time and still is, but CC has just as good a story if not better). It makes you wonder, if they made a new chrono game, what would it be like? what system would it be one? what combat changes would it undergo? what sort of graphicts style would they choose? would the main character still be a silant steve? What do you think?
here's my oppinion, or what i'de like anyway.
Graphics- most people are going for a more realistic push, but I sort of hope they go with a more cell shaded, manga style like a more garnished DQ8. If they made a bomberman style next gen leap, i'de shoot myself.
Gameplay- I hope they'de keep alot of the old stuff from both. No random encounters, world map and time travel. I'm not sure what the combat would be like, but it would be nice if they had duel attacks and atbs like CT (CC had an ok system, but i like CT more). But, they could reenvent it almost completly like CC did (which I wouldn't have a big problem with it as long as the new system wasn't uber generic).
System- I want to say WII but let's be honest, Motion controlls + turn based rpg = fail. I'de prefer it be on 360, just because it's alot less expecive than ps3 (although that's probibaly the console it would be on if it came out, since CC was on psx. Then again FF13's getting a 360 port so who knows).
I'm not saying one has been anonced, but I was just wondering what you guys think it would be like.
If their where a Chrono 3, what would it be like?
