Slow death by fire (not smoke inhalation) is probably the worst. As for the best - Hypothermia, you're cold at first, but then you feel hot and start peeling off your clothes while you begin to hallucinate and go to sleep.

For all of you that are saying drowning, I've almost drown in a lake before (waits for people that hate me to comment), and it wasn't that painful. You really are unaware of what is happening, you just feel like you are being pulled under and you are so stressed and confused, that the water filling your lungs doesn't press into your mind to give off "PAIN".
I would say trying to hang yourself, and your neck doesn't snap, so you hang there struggling and suffocating till you die... -Thinks of the Pipel in the book Night- Ick..I would try to break my own neck before I hung there for 30 mins dieing.
Fire would be pretty bad too, just burning to death in a room..would be horrid...

Yeah, drowning isn't that bad. Me being a bad swimmer always semi-drown. It's either my friend pull out of the water before I drown or struggle out of the water myself.
The worst death will be something penetrate or massive impact hit your body.

Saw on this movie once that was about torture techniques that in Mongolia, soldiers who were charged with treason were laid naked down on a metal table, had a rounded piece of metal pressed against the front of there body, then the guards would heat the person from both sides, take off the top metal and toss a bucket of salt water on them, replace the metal on top of them, reheat the metal, and repeat until dead.

One day during law as we were learning about capital punishment I came across this one. Forgot the name.
Basically glued to an inside of a hollow tree. Inside the hollow tree is honey and various sugar items. They are thrown into a river and left to die. Basically bugs start eating at you while you're alive, and they make nests and stuff inside of you. Your body rots and you sit there and accept it.
Also being bored out of your mind by being trapped in a log and doing nothing.
