Saints Row 2 or Grand Theft Auto IV ?

I wanna get one of those "do whatever the hell you want to do" (sandbox) games like SR and GTA, the problem is: They are both good games


All i know is that SR2 is more for people that just wanna have fun killing people, jumping off buildings with god mode and stuff, but GTA is realistic...


So can you guys give me your point of view of those games, and tell me which one you prefer? Thanks :P

Grand theft auto IV = Realistc

Saints Row 2 = Not so realistic

GTA 4 has a better story line.

SR2 is for screwing around (going on rampages, cop chases, using crazy weapons, etc.)
GTA4 is when you care about the storyline and want to play the campaign
GTA4 is fun for screwing around too, but the guns aren't really fun to play with as much as SR2 and the car handling is as suited for high-speed cop chases (unless you've played Gran Turismo all your life and have it pretty much down... bad comparison, but you get my point).

i find it easyer to drive a car in GTA4 than in Saints Row 2 and i never played Grand turismo.

Really? I think that the cars in SR2 had better handling than the cars in GTA4 (as in SR2 cars turn a lot easier and faster than GTA4). I also had a problem with the Mercedes convertible car in GTA4; ANY turn that I made, no matter how small, made it spin out of control like as if it were skidding on a slick of semen.

I'll say this as someone who owns both games--Saints Row 2 is my pick.

Why?

[+]TONS of stuff to do, even after you beat the main story
[+]It is essentially a humorous version of GTA IV, minus Roman (Though, minus Roman should be another plus...)
[+]Memorable characters
[+]Money is NOT necessary in this game, it just makes things slightly easier

However, there were some annoying bits:

[-]The graphics were about...20% better than Saints Row's graphics.
[-]The game occasionally froze on my 360, even after it being installed to my HD.


I'm not going to dissect Grand Theft Auto IV, as I really don't see a need to; it has all the things Grand Theft Auto 3 had, and a similar story--except, this time, you're Russian. Though, it did have Katt Williams, which gives it +30% in my book.

Basically, the game speaks for itself. Both games are good, however... I prefer Saints Row 2's lightheartedness to Grand Theft Auto IV's melodrama. Both games are quite good, and quite worth playing, though.

GTA4 has pretty graphics .. if you've never been to new york... well now you can Of course it isn't exact rip of the map but they did take NY buldings, artworks like graffiti, etc

..Eh? Unlocked clothes twords the end..? Did you play the game? I didn't even know there were unlockable clothes and I just beat it lookin like a sexy *** beast the entire game O.o. I also had basically all the guns twords the middle minus some unique ones that take some effort to get. The way money / weapons / clothes came to you as you played was perfect.

I also found the game pretty hilarious and I loved all the cutscenes, not to mention character creation which you could change at any time. The main character is just such a badass, I would do him in a heartbeat o.o. You can make a freakin PERFECTLY EXACT replica of Hulk Hogan and a bunch of other people (look it up).

The graphics are actually really great too in game on high. Sadly it doesn't show in these crappy screenshots.
