Default Ipod stolen at work..suspect potentially caught?

So the other day,I was just finishing my morning shift at work.I was changing to go home and to my horror my new Ipod was not in my locker. I searched for it for a good 20 minutes and couldn't find it. Now I know everybody probably thinks "your fault, didn't have a lock on your locker." but the truth is at my job nobody does. We have too many employees and if we were to all be putting locks on lockers there'd be none left for most of us.

Anyway,my Ipod was still in my locker at 230 when I got off break, and I got off work at 430.

Fast forward to 5 minutes ago. I get a text from my brother who's staying the night at our friend's house. He says his sister's boyfriend just gave her a black ipod nano chromatic (the same one I lost) that he "found" at the theatre. Well, I work with her boyfriend. We're pretty good friends I'd say and I do trust him, but it makes it seem fishy that not only did he tell me it was his last 2 weeks there, but he also said "I don't even have to come to work for these last 2 weeks." So if he wasn't going to return to work for his last 2 weeks of employment, why would he care if he took somebody's property? I highly doubt it's coincidence that he found a black ipod the same as mine, the day that mine went missing from my locker. My brother checked the music on it and apparently it's all different from what I had, so either it is a huge yet weird Coincidence,or the person switched all of my music to cover it up. I can't afford to replace my Ipod,it basically cost me a full pay cheque in the first place. So,would you say he's a prime suspect?

yeah that's exactly why I bring it to work, I honestly don't leave the house ever without my music. He would've had to go through my stuff to find it though because I always hide my things in with my stuff

Steal it back. Simple as that. Its yours, not anyone elses, when you steal it, confirm its yours, if not, give it back saying you found it somewhere.

I did it before when i was in 7th grade, not an ipod though, my bike, someone stole it took off the stickers and all that crap, went to school in the morning found it in the bike rack, took it out rode it home, and came back to school late, it was worth it. :3

why don't you go to the *****es house and ****ing snatch it from her.

once you do that, you walk away.

if that guy comes to you, or if you know he's coming, just take a bat, and do what you need to.

aha general consensus is to beat him and steal it back. Well i've been good friends with his girlfriend for about 5 years now and she's not aware of the situation..so i texted her about it. I should get it back..if not her brother has offered to give me his old 30GB ipod classic to compensate for it.

You don't know it's yours. For someone who didn't intend to sell the iPod, they went through a lot of trouble to "steal" it from you, because whilst unable to also steal a charger and a USB cord from you, they'd instead have to find someone else with an iPod, go to their house, steal the charger and the cord, take "your" iPod home, wipe it and put his own music on it. If he was planning to go through all that trouble, don't you think he might have instead just stolen the whole package from someone else?
Or that he truly COULD have just found it? You have no idea how many idiots will forget their iPods everywhere these days, if you yourself are dumb enough to leave it in an unlocked locker.

Well I know for a fact he'd have to have found it in my locker because that's where it was when i got off break. It was only a 2 hour difference between my break and the end of my shift. It was also just confirmed by the girlfriend's brother because it has the same scratches on it in the same place as mine..the truth is you don't need to use a dock for ipods if you have the right cables..chances are maybe he has an ipod himself

Edit: It was also hidden with my cell phone..so in order for anyone to even find it they'd have to actually search my locker and know what they were looking for

Where did I mention needing a dock? You didn't read my post at all.

well all the talk of stealing a charger as well or using someone elses. I call chargers docks, but oh well it's basically dealt with and either way I'll end up with an ipod in the end.

yeah i would be pissed off, but ive never had anything stolen due to my neglect because im not an idiot. if his locker was locked and had been broken into then thats another matter. but the fact is that his property was stolen due to carelessness (like nobody has never seen a "pickpockets operate in this area" or "do not laeve valuables on display in your car" sign before). then he starts getting suspicious about another ipod seen thats the same colour as his.

yeah because theres not that many black ipods about

"oh but this guy said he "found it"

yeah well with people like you leaving their stuff lying around then theres a pretty damn good chance he did just find it due to some other chump being careless.
