Default New Comp- Am I doing it wrong?

I probably am doing it wrong. ;x
Anywho, I have this computer engineering assignment where we have to make an Ultimate __________ Computer! I decided to make an ultimate gaming computer. Now I need your help.
See, you have to research all the parts and stuff, and come up with everything you need. You have to 'buy' all of the parts and everything.

I was wondering.. This is what I got so far.. >_>
Will it work? Is it right? Is there anything I'm missing? ;x

This is what I have so far..

I think you're spending way too much. Where are you getting these parts from? Also you didn't list the CPU.

Go to Alienware's website, get the best desktop, then customize everything to max settings. Should be at least $10,000 or more. :3

Looks like an i7 quad core processor. Seriously though, you could shop around and save at least 25% on those parts you listed.

SLI is scalable link interface I think, not sure, but your suppose to connect it with another graphics card (if you bought two of the same or three) and the computer uses the second graphics card along with the first.

So, I'm guessing if I needed to make the ultimate gaming computer, buying more than one graphics card and connecting them would be a good idea?
If so, [NOOBISH QUESTION]: that means if I buy 3 graphics cards, I'm gonna need to put each one in its own PCIe slot? ;x

Also to warn you the 1600W power supply won't work unless you call and electrician to install a special plug socket in your wall.

Houses are built with sockets that only accept up to 1200W so I suggest not getting anything higher than that unless you want to spend some extra money to get the new socket installed.

if your going to gt all that expensive stuff you might as well get a bigger monitor too. Something atleast 24+ inch
But it's supposed to be the Ultimate Gaming Computer. It's okay if I spend a lot of money. ;x (I'm not ACTUALLY buying the parts)

And thanks for the info about the 1600W stuff. xD
    I guess I'll get a 1200W one instead. :P

SLI is only dual, having a third is just dumb and not worth it even if you aren't paying for it.

Also I would go for XFX for the graphics card I've had good luck with them...though BFG isn't bad I suppose.

I would also recommend an AMD quad core instead of that intel...I don't care how good the intel is I would, again, recommend AMD over intel anyday as a rule of thumb as well as geforce over ATI.

Other than that you can't really go wrong with making a gaming computer unless you don't get enough cooling..water cooling would keep it down to a perfect level I'm not sure if it comes with the case or whatever just mentioning it.

Also..if it is going to be running windows 7/vista your going to want 6~8gb of ram..it's a tad overkill but so is this computer so you'll end up with 2.5~3gb of ram to be used for the games themselves once you get vista/w7 running along with your setup being killer and RAM is very important for gaming.

I shall get more RAM then.
Guys, I EDITED the first post. I changed my motherboard. There are more PCIe slots now.

ALSO: Which brand Hard drive would you recommend, Seagate or Hitachi?
