That's true, but game stores do it all the time with release dates.. so it actually says nothing about the real release date.

I'm sure if you googled hard enough you could have seen the exposed release date for Spore happening at least twice a year since 2005. I don't know why they put those numbers out there (presale maybe?) when they aren't anything close to accurate.
