I honestly don't believe in one specific God, but maybe that there is more than one.. Kind of like Greek Mythology I guess.
I suppose someone had to create all of this. I don't think that the God in the bible is real. That's just a load of crap. I also have never gone to church in my life.

oh and here is some info on on both of those historians.

We don't even know who the gospel writers were nor have the original manuscripts.

    END OF STORY!

Doesn't matter if I like eating bananas or not, doesn't matter if it looks like i'm sucking a banana, doesn't matter if you thought that was stupid - that has nothing to do with this.

It's not end of story is it? Because it's not an adult with an imaginary friend.

If that's your grasp of what religion is and what it means to people, then you're being criminally oblivious.

    Excellent contribution.

It's not, because that's not what I mean. You're putting the cart before the horse.

You are assuming things aren't there, that's the flaw in your perception. Something not being there is different to something being there but beyond your comprehension or detection.

It's also possible that yes, it's not there at all.

Seeing as neither are really provable, it's ridiculous to assume one as fact.

Hence; "God could exist, I don't know how or why, but it's not possible to be factually sure he doesn't, so I won't commit.".

That makes talking about him as an entity impossible.

There is no reason for make-believe mystic crap.
Oh, you're so cool with your cocky atheism. A credit to your cause, I'm sure.

The way you're speaking, you have something that nobody in history has had; factual proof that there is no such thing as God and nothing beyond what we see.

Go on, revolutionise the way we think and reveal to us what makes you so sure that you have the right to tell everyone they're wrong in an entirely subjective area.

    Since that's what this is.

But everything got worse and never better so that turned me away from god completely.
Im not saying that im greedy and that i want everything i pray for but i believed for really long, about 5 years and nothing good happend for me.

For that reason i believe that god does not exist, he is a figment of your imagination. Someone people turn to to get comfort and hope. In the end people thank god for their success but in the end it was all them.
not to be ***, but you should probably read and find out what praying is actually for. praying like that really isnt correct.

I believe that there is no god, but there is a higher being that watches over us. He didnt create the Earth/Universe/Humans but he watches over us.

I also believe that when we die, we are reborn into another body.

Call me crazy, I don't care.

thats what you call God, if you think "he" didnt create the Universe, than how do you exist. Any higher being that watches overs us is very easily discribed as God and you being reborn into another body also makes no sense. that would mean the same people would be born over and over. Not to mention do YOU remember living before?

I am Deist with Buddhist philosophical qualities. I believe in living life to obtain peace. I often meditate. I believe everything was created by a higher power. I could ramble on and on, but I'll spare my fingers. They're tired. I just got back from playing at a concert.

But when I try to hold a conversation with a religious person in a controversial area for them like evolution, I won't call them stupid the first time they make a mistake. There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity. If they mistaken something I will just think they are ignorant then I will explain it to them. If they still don't understand after many times of explaining it to them then I will just assume they are stupid.

I mean the people who don't think evolution is true always are mistaken about what evolution is. Sometimes they will understand your explanations and they were just ignorant of the evidence. Other times they will not understand no matter what you do and that just shows their stupditiy.

I don't say all religious people are stupid either. The guy who is the head of the genome project is a roman catholic. When anyone makes a stupid comment I will try to correct them whether they are atheist, christian, black, white, ect ect. It just so happens alot of religious people are mistaken about things they disregard. Although I can understand why they wouldn't like evolution becuase that would tear apart the bible. There would be no Adam and Eve, no original sin, and no jesus to die for that sin.
    Awww,you suck

What I dislike are evolution vs creationism arguements.

Evolution is a fact of life, it means change over time, to evolve. To deny that evolution exists would mean that you are denying that adaptation exists.
For people who assume evolution means we are derived from apes; that is a misconception. Apes exist alongside humans today, so it is impossible to say we evolved FROM them.
What this theory entails is that we share a common ancestor, millions of years ago. Not monkey >>> humans.

Also, what is the point of life if there is no after life? Existence is pointless if if there is nothing to live for.
I say then that the universe never became but just always is, and always will.

And yes usually when something has no proof for it's existance it is perfectly normal to disregard it.

Some asserted with no evidence can be disregarded with no evidence.

what is befor the BEGINNING? so the answer would be NOTHING, so we then get to the next question. if there is something, then how can it come out of nothing? so it's a metaphysical impossibility.

that realization would only lead us to the idea (or a fact thereof) that the time/space structure is not LINEAR but actually repetitive or cyclical (progressing in cycles).

so in short, there is no beginning. everything is eternally recurring

Yup truth will always trump over faith. It's sad some people don;t realize that.

Also I find it weird that some people can't admit they don't know they have to fill in the gap with something no matter what, even if the thing they fill it in with is nothing.

    Truth?
    What truth?
You don't have a single fact poitnting out god isn't real.

Go, try and find some, I'm sure you don't have any friends to play with.

There probably was a "god", there was never really a Santa Clause that went around houses and gave people gifts riding on his rain deers. But there was a person named Santa Clause or St. Nick or whatever you know him by that lived and made toys for kids. Sometimes a lie originated from the truth, so personally I don't believe in a "god", but I do people there is a god in all of us and when you pray you actually really just praying to yourself.

Yeah but knowing what I worship won't help you. I can believe that cookie monster is my god and you'd say, of course big bang wasn't made of cookies. Religion has nothing to do with the start of the universe, it's important to believe in a higher being. Hell, if you believe in Dr. Manhattan that would be enough and good of a start.
