Default 3 months of school then a 1 month break?

Had an argument in class about whether schools taking place year-round with 1 month break after every 3 months.
Therefore, 3 months in school, then a 1 month break, etc.

Personally, this is much more tedious and does not have any benefits. This type of thing should be seamless.

We have arguments about this in class all the time, >_> people in my class think school in america is better but i think having 2-4 week breaks throughout the year is much better.

I am forced to endure six to eight weeks of College before I recieve a one week break (Half-term), I then serve another six to eight weeks and recieve a two week break (End of term). This alternates all year until early June, when I recieve a very welcomed ten to twelve weeks off.

Our college starts August 24 and ends May 13. So we get about 3 and a half months off for our summer break. Then we have basically 15 straight weeks until we get off for our Christmas break which lasts about 6 weeks, followed by 15-16 weeks till the end of that semester.

So.. I like getting a butt-load of time off. Very enjoyable after such a long amount of time studying for a Biomedical Sciences degree. Weeee...

You go to a state university or a UC?

They still have homeworks and assignments to do over the 1 month period so they still need to remember the lessons they were taught beforehand.
