most accurate post in this entire thread.

my dad is a contract manager for a gas fitting firm. i doubt he sat down as a kid and said "thats what i wanna be when i grow up".

parents and school teach kids everything, including how to hope and dream. but they seldom teach failure. they never tell kids "well actually all your dreams are probably going to turn into sh*t. only 1 in a million become professional footballers, astronauts, business tycoons, world renowned physicists etc so you arent going to get what you want". no, what they say is "one day timmy you could be president." then cry when he develops a drug addiction and gets busted for having two kids with a seventeen year old.

my advice guys, aim high... but dont make your entire life as a child all about attaining some far off goal. because one day your childhood will be gone, the goal wont be as sweet and youll be left thinking "man i was so busy planning for my future i forgot about my present"
