Default Guild Wars or wait for GW2?

It's about damn time I think about getting Guild Wars. Unfortunately, GW2 is coming near and it became a long time before I even had thoughts about getting GW. I have now decided to maybe get it for the PvE contents. Hopefully, it can last hundreds of hours. Otherwise, I will have to be stuck with Diablo 2, which I just started yesterday but don't find it that much fun.

Now... Should I buy Guild Wars Trilogy + EotN or should I wait until GW2 comes out and buy a new comp with it? (cause my comp can't even run Savage 2, DoW2, and Mark of Chaos >:[) Guild Wars Trilogy + EotN should cost me around $70 USD if I buy it from GameStop. Or should I save up that 70$ until GW2 come out. Any suggestions? Any benefits to GW2 if I get GW1 first?

I really enjoy GW1 so I'd suggest going for it. Ritualist is my favorite primary class.

I don't think the any stores sell the complete collection in the US. I heard it EU exclusive from what I read and searched up.

You should try the first GW then decide if you want to get the rest of it.

Like the rest of the MMORPGs,

just because most of other like it doesn't mean you will.

If you're not willing to spend money on ALL expansions, don't even bother. GW has turned into a competitors' heaven, and if you don't want to be in one of the guilds that do just that, I suggest you stay faaaar away from GW.

If your getting GW for the PvE content, I highly suggest you focus on Guildwars Prophecies, it has without a doubt the best PvE and storyline. The other ones are great to thought .

Just get it. You can find it for like $10-$15, maybe less.

PvP is garbage in any games.

If you're in it for PvE, I enjoyed GW Nightfall as it has a lot to do and you get 2 additional classes.

Guildwars isn't a MMORPG, it is (as the developers call it), a CORPG. Definately not Massively Multiplayer.

I think you have this backwards, PvE is always garbage (abusing AI) compared to fighting against thinking opponents. Guildwars PvP is good, but:

You have to get into high end PvP (Guild vs Guild is really the only good PvP, Team arenas could have been good, but with so few good people who played in it, it became a steamroll for good teams), which is a lot harder than it should be (need 8 players in for so many days [at least when I quit] before you could do tournaments which were the new big thing), every other PvP is worse (less organized / more random).

You'll likely enjoy PvP until you know all the skills and can predict an entire teams skillset after seeing which primaries / secondaries they have (GvG builds get really stale because not all skills are viable [E.G. Lava font] and some are almost nessecary [Frenzy])

The PvE for guildwars is beyond boring.

I'd wait for GW2 if I was you, and I'd only pick that up if the whole GW1 character thing to GW2 character thing won't screw you over, like it possibly might.

Haha if I were you I'd just get the new comp but I mean Guild Wars wise I wuold choose Guild Wars. GW2 might not come out for a while. You don't know a release date and it might take a while. Besides GW is great. PvP is fun too not just the PvE

You might as well get GW if you can find it and the expansions for cheap.
