Cingal has that mature mentality that OnRPG needs (badly) right now, plus he has loads of experience over at the Acclaim BOTS forum (I'm sure that's a hard forum to moderate).

Oister seems like the type of guy who could hold down a situation very well, keeping calm and collected all at the same time, but wouldn't be afraid to ban a mofo if he pissed him off (DDD).

There's plenty more people I had in mind, but I'm not sure if I'd be well-awake enough to type them all, and I'm about to head to the beach.

Not all things can be done democratically, like something the Prime Minister of my country said, ever though we are considered a Democratic country, we aren't exactly 100% democratic, and can't possibly be one.

I won't call any names and I doubt Oister will. Everyone has their own opinion about the mods. Some are liked, some aren't, but that's not the case here.
If you want decent mods, get those that are a bit serious and objective. We really don't need mods that abuse their powers.

My issue is beating about the bush, he said recent mod picks, and as far as I'm aware, that's Shadow and myself. We're the two most recent, main moderators.

There is no need to put that list there. Other than that, I agree with you. Mods are the ones that should respect the members. Members should also respect mods, but that's only limited. You could have personal issues with mods and that doesn't really matter, but if a mod does anything because of personal issues, he doesn't deserve it to be a mod.


If you really want to pick mods like this, you should give each nominee that you agree with a temporary time as a mod and see if he does well. After that, you could talk together about a decent outcome.

I love the hypocritical tone there.

"You need to f**king earn our respect.", but the way most members see respect is us taking any insults on the chin and not punishing them for it.

Mods should, by default, be respectFUL. There is no problem regarding the manners of the current mods, mostly.

Members just feel they are to be treated like gold, when every single thing we do isn't good enough.

We can't please everyone, so we do what we must. Certain people will disrespect us no matter what we do.

Respectfulness goes as far as basic manners. It doesn't entitle you to disrespect a mod and not get a clip around the ear. I was the first to outwardly claim that respect is to be earned, but apparently that only works for members. We have to earn yours, but you can disrespect us regardless.

True, it must be seen both ways. Members should be respectful and MODs as well. But its the MODs actions towards that lack of respect shown by a member that is key.
Its all about laughing it off and giving them a ban/warning. Its what MODS are supposed to do.
But when a MOD takes it to another level and starts putting attacks and stating "I can do whatever I want" is when it starts going downhill.

4 years I have been here, never had a problem till recently. Never been banned, never been warned whatsoever, the single infraction i got recently was what i deserved though, not the lame warnings. Love the way how the moderation here is going downhill.

No, it's not is it? Because as you can see by my name, I've been punished, along with other mods, for wrong doing.

I appreciate your desire to cling to that one quote, that single, solitary quote that I have even apologised for wording in an antagonistic way for, to you personally.

I just feel that's old. If all you have is that one quote which, while poorly worded, was steeped in truth, then I suggest thinking before making criticisms.

Just like people who have a problem with me are the ones who lose to me in debates, the only people REALLY whining about the mods are the ones who have been punished by them. Aside from Cingal, who, while a very nice guy, clearly over-estimates you all. Because he feels you're all sensible and unbiased enough to make decisions as to how the forum is run.

Every time you're given a platform for opinion, you turn it into bias, you make a silly signature or you hide your bias that inevitably surfaces.

Members are obviously very important, but no member is bigger than the forum, and members seem to only care about getting their own agendas across, not what'd make the forum better.

You are moaning about warnings. Warnings are worth NO points, they are a lenient action.

I have to say that Norrin, you do do your job. I never said you made a bad moderator or any of that drama nonsense. I was referring to the multiple members that had an issue with your being made a mod. And no, not just you there buddy. I meant some of the other more recent mods, who I won't name (but I'll address you since you brought it up).

I was simply referring to the shit storm that ensued after the admins/mods picked you (AND OTHERS) recently. Just look what happened. They picked, and a bunch of crap happened. Its nice they are letting the members voice their opinions this time.
