Can't tell much, but i personally haven't seen them being stubborn or trying to prove that they are always right like some other mods here
Oister seems always positive and that would be only good while as many others heat up and it doesn't take much to start cursing too.
Bryan is quiet, but he is more like an observer(thats what i think atleast).
Ain't gonna prove to no one nothing now. Just posting what i think.

Yeah man, you hit it on the head.

I wasnt flaming you for doing some stupid news posts. So dont assume i was

Its just a few new sections should be added to help control the traffic there.

Some actual good threads get knocked off due to "dude bites penis off" and other absolutely, keep in mind, my opinion, ******ed threads.

    thanks

EDIT: Yeah, if cyber hasnt been a Mod. I pick him also

Ive always had fun talking with him, and playing games with him.

He takes a good approach at things. Something i cant do at times hehe

No offense, but you just joined to tell them that? I sense someone that made an alt to prevent me from being a mod?
Anyways; I'd like to remind you that I'm not ''a child that lacks the majurity''. If you're talking about my age; Raiyne was about this age when he became a moderator.

I'm not going for it anyways. If they'd offer it, I wouldn't say no, but well, you get the drill.

@Kaitos; You do realize that it is me in that pic, right?

I wasn't talking about our age, but rather your maturity
I just don't think you would be a half-decent moderator
so I wanted to give my opinion. you have to be able to accept criticism.

Wow, didn't know OnRPG has grown that fast...

And I'm speaking logically here. You don't make a hundred sections just because there are one or 2 daily threads you feel can be placed elsewhere. You still haven't answered me what do you wanna see in General section ? I posted those lame and funny and weird threads just to let the community have a few laughs, at least i felt i contributed.
Dude, i have nothing against your "funny" threads. Ive done a few myself. And i wont lie, they are funny. But some threads, that might actually be worth looking at get knocked down into the abyss of what is "the general section pages"

And yes, onRPG HAS grown, THAT fast.

I didnt say, make a hundred sections. Just a few.

    Like a News section.

Ya know, for those "funny" threads everyone loves to make

And a Movie section. Or Entertainment section. For movies AND music

    Basically, generalize the general section.

Its possible, these sections wont even take. As most people use the FREE MMO section to post requests and other things.

But i was only giving my opinion. Did ya get that opinion part?

    Who says I don't
I am just curious who you really are. I doubt you are a lurker without an account.

Anyways, to comment on what you said. I've actually worked for an mmo and other than that, I've 'worked' for private servers. Bryan knows about some of them (kung fu :3).
Anyways, would you really think they would accept an immature journalist?

@Kaitos; You don't believe me? :P I can prove it

A few of you have shown that you guys can't be given the responsibility to help pick prospective mods.

I don't see the problem in the way mods have been picked before, why does it need to change?

I'm not 100% sure but I think the majority of OnRPG do see a problem with the way mods have been picked before.

The way they were being picked it seemed like some "Recruit a Friend" thing was going on, and there was no say in it from the community at all. I guess alot of members did not like having random moderators dumped on them every now and then, and would prefer to put forth their opinions before a choice is made.

It is nice that they are involving the community in the process of choosing a moderator, but I think more things revolving around the moderators we have now need to be sorted first.

Things like having standard procedures for locking threads, other than hitting the lock button and posting "lulz GG bai". Or even just simply deleting threads with no reasons left for the people to understand what is going on which results in further threads being made saying "where did that thread go?!?". The examples above are pretty unprofessional imo, and should be the primary concern other than filling in some cracks with another random new moderator.

I have alot more ideas on how moderation could be improved here, but alas, it is food time. :3

I have nothing against any of the other people who were suggested, but there is one person that I think deserves a voice in the staff section; Cingal.
Because it's grown redundant at this point. People are only voting for Cingal, Bryan and Oisterboy (the latter, I believe, will not make a good mod).

    I agree with Cinderboy.

Remove one or two; a couple are inactive, anyway so I figure it won't do much to security. If you guys plan on replacing some, then I guess I'll nominate Cyber7Chink (upon his return) due to his levelheadedness. I'm not nominating Oisterboy or Cingal for the mere fact that I really don't want them to suffer.

I agree. I don't know why people think a poll would turn into a popularity contest, but a whole thread would not.

All the good mod material members have actually quit the forum due to different circumstances.

But given the members that are left, I'd have to vote on no one.

Oister is really a great guy, but he isn't strict enough to handle a community of misfits like us. (btw, forgot to thank you about the stenciling, i ended up just painting it with acrylic)

hian would be perfect, but he's been away for too long to even be considered.

As for cinderboy, he's a valuable member, but I don't see him handling the responsibility of being a mod yet. Quite possibly in a year he'd be perfect.

So I'm sticking with voting on no one, cutting down sections, and a main page re-design.

As for the latter, I could help with that.

Cyber7chink (informative, clear head, clear posts)
Oisterboy (also seems like a decent choice from what I've seen from posts)

Instead of getting more mods why not get specific mods for certain sections.

Like from reading earlier even though ive been at this forum for a while ive never really seen Norrin post or many of the other mods cause they dont visit the mmorpg sections much well the main mmorpg section to be specific.
I've always thought that would be a good idea. I think it's been suggested in the ": What would you like at OnRPG! Please vote =)" thread as well. It seems that certain people have their area of expertise or preferences when it comes to particular MMO's (Cingal for example speaks in high regards about FFXI) and would be good at offering advice. To a degree, it seems like that is going on already with some mods (Arri for example posts a lot in Mabinogi threads).

In order for that to be successful though, people would have to start posting in sections, otherwise why have a Mod run section no one wants to post in?

Bryan and Oisterboy would be the best people for the job. They aren't mean, unlike most of the people nominated in this thread.
