Just so you know, it's not a Christian belief that the world will end in 2012.

Matthew 24: 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

So yeah. That just made you seem ignorant to me. :x

On Topic: A few good FPSs are expected to be released soon...if those fail then I think that I'll stop playing computer games.

It's not as old as the first and the population is pretty good... However it seems less then it was a couple years ago. Many expansions keep some people coming.

It's good for grouping too.. My opinion more on the Qeynos side for groups. I'll have to play it again when i get my gaming pc.

EDIT - i know it wasn't a christian belief(written in stone). I've seen many christians say that they believe that's the day. But then again.. What's a true christian?

    1st rule about 2012.

    Is that it won't happen.

Have you ever considered that it's no where near 2012 in other countries?
So how can you assume that it's going to be our 2012?

Another thing is that maybe they were killed before continuing the callender or better yet, Really didn't feel like making another year in stone.

    Have you ever written stone?
    I haven't and it sounds like a *****.

The whole 2012 thing was just started by some crazy paster in a church that got on the news.

So all the non-christian people here who believe in 2012 are pretty much conforming to what every-one else thinks.

    I agree.

I don't believe in 2012 BS. I picked the year 2012 as more of a joke but serious at the same time. I estimate that if we don't all die in 2012 that gaming will either be dead or return for the better.

Nothing to do with actual 2012 dec 21 thing.

Edit - No i have tried writing in stone. But i wrote my name in snow using a tool of the trades.

Good question, but I would say non-denominational probably. Denominations are mostly trying to get your money or teaching the wrong stuff. =\ (Generally)

It's the mayan calendar which ends at 2012 which got the ball rolling.

If we use SI units, then every country is going to reach 2012 soon. Although which group hits the apocalypse 2012 is yet to be seen. My guess is that when GMT-12 hits 1/1/12, the world will "end"

Yeah...just misinterpreted...their calendar was due to restart on 2012. If they didn't get wiped out.

    I know,

But people didn't start freaking out till the paster on the TV made a statement that he got a message from god that the earth really is going to end on 2012.

It's a shame that he doesn't even know his own bible where it clearly states that no one will know when the end will be.

    Console Gaming.

I think that most christians don't go by or even understand the bible. Some believe that animals do or dont have souls. Some just choose certain things to believe and make their own religeion out of it and still call them self Christians.

There were people before the mayans that were just as "skilled" i think. I forgot what they were called.

Edit: What I mean is, consoles have been around for a while as well, and PC gaming hasn't *completely* died. Until consoles can replace PCs completely, PC gaming won't "die".

    I mean,

Alot of other countries aren't in the year 2009 right now.

It wasn't even till recent that China now made there year part of ours when it was actually the year 4706.

If consoles stay based on gaming and limit it to MP3s and web browsing it will limit Hackers and gold farmers and sellers.

I rarely see hackers in console gaming... these days anyway.

Now that i think of it... There use to be less hackers a few years ago in PC gaming and ALOT of hackers in Console gaming. Its reversed now.

Okay, so you meant the countries personal way of measuring time. I was a bit confused by what you meant.

Either way, time is relative. So, that just means that during a specific moment during one specific country's "2012" would still be the "end" of the world regardless of the rest of the world's time measurement systems.

They are pretty advanced as far as astrology and craftsmanship and even medicaly.

Some say aliens taught them the secrets and abilities to do those things. Buildings that are pretty much immposible to build even to this day.

The Egyptians had medical tools and could perform brain surgey(or try to anyway). They could produce light.. possibly electricity.

History channel ftw xD. They say that the time frame to build a pryemid was 20 years.. that would be setting up one stone every 9 seconds.

    ALIENS!!!!! ahh.

What 500 people are you talking about. The mayans just dissapeared one day no one really knows why.

Well maybe games are facing a decline. But maybe the same thing would happen when Atari in the early days started releasing a buncha crappy games, and after that people didn't want to game till companies started to buck up. So I think the same pattern my follow in suit

Well first off.. aliens will never find us because we are a spec of dirt in a land slide of a 1 single universe, not counting the endless number of other galaxies.

Second off.. this end of the world in 2012.. meh.. i don't believe it

Thirdly.. gaming pwns, and will pick up by then.. i hope..

seeing as how "greed is good" and following your desires/wants is the main trend, I say no. MMORPGs in general will spiral down a shithole and never come back out. The only way to prevent this is probably to overturn and purge all gaming companies of its current employees and replace them with fresh, willing, customer-oriented staff members.

even games that are in hype every year turn out to be disappointments. this cycle of hype -> fail -> protest/flame/bash -> look for other games -> repeat has been going on for god-knows-how-long. only way this will break is if a perfect mmorpg comes out that monopolizes the entire industry. But then, this is impossible so the cycle will continue on forever.

I pick a choice not ON the polls: Companies will try to make the future better, but due to the world we live in, will eventually crumble and bring the Apocalypse to the gaming world~ and then aliens will come shaking their elongated heads and introduce us to a next-gen technology for gaming, which will then revive the whole industry.

Aliens with uber virtual reality devices. I could infact punch a ****** in the face over the internet.

Well, there use to be good games... Or there is good games that just went to hell with updates that should never of been done. MMORPGs and FPS games on the PC use to be fun. Maybe a MMORPG will come out that's good on the XBOX.

I saw a clip about 2012, they have some good facts about bible that prove the end is near. But i think they interpreted it wrong. Like rise in the middle east, hurricane and stuffs, mark the beggining of the end. But those stuffs happen forever now. Noone can predict exact day, if there is one.

And for the games, as technologies advance, i think so do the games.
