    Default Square-Enix now owns Eidos...

It is now Official that Square-Enix owns Eidos UK and all of it's properties. Maybe we'll see some Tifa on Lara action now. This is actually a substantial acquisition for SE. Kotaku even has a nice map of it up and brief article. Project Rapture just got a lot more interesting imo.

It's huge when you consider they have the libraries of Taito, Square, Enix, Eidos (4 Dev houses), IO Interactive, Bluefish Media, Rocksteady Studios, and Crystal Dynamics now to exploit.

Now only if Microsoft bought SE. lmao
Bill Gates needs to open his wallet throw more money SE's way.

I am so happy for Square Enix, they are really devouring the competition. Buying up great companies. Are they gonna change the name of Eidos? Or find some way to combine their names? Square EiNixdos. hahahaha

If microsoft would own SE, SE is doomed...no more great RPGs.. no more fun!..

If that happens, I prolly will no longer be a square enix fan.

    Why do you say that?
    I smell fanboy on you.

In my opinion Microsoft would let SE do what they wanna do.
With Microsoft's money/technology and SE's ideas..... you can't go wrong.

    I agree!
And your fascination with Hitsugi is cute.
Do you like Naitomea or just they way he looks?
Sadly Histugi is the only reason I really listen to Naitomea, well him and Sendai Kamotsu.

Dream come true. If Square has come over here properly instead of that one building in London im gonna have some major motivation for Uni next year.

At the moment the UK does not have many major game companies a lot have gone bust recently or have been bought up except Rockstar and a few others.

Don't mock me for my n00b powerz but isn't EA mostly sports games? SE would totally fail with EA on top of them.

SE should just stay in Japan and buy western companies.
But whats unfair is that the Japanese don't like to share!
So many *** exclusives they need to flood our (NA) market with.

EA is a big games publisher company which also bought a few game developing studios... It deals with alot of other games, like the command and conquer series~ alot others.

Well all I see our crappy adventure, sports, and mediocre strategy games with EA. In my opinion EA is a horrible company and should be bombed.

EA has it's hands in a lot of cookie jars, but it is mostly known for sports games.

As for the JP Market being very exclusive you are right, but they have a reason for that because most of the ren'ai shimyureeshon geemu, eroge, and bemani games only appeal to a very small niche audience of NA/EUR gamers. In recent years we have seen many games such as limited RPG's, rhythm games, and quirky games (Katamari Damacy, Ico, Incredible Crisis, etc) make it to English shores.

JP gamers are yelling to a lesser extent because Xbox 360 has many NA exclusives that they are waiting on. It just depends on which side of the pond you are standing as to what you get.

Well language shouldn't be used to keep me out of the JRPG market! Why can't they do translations? It's not that hard and they don't even have to to do voice acting (as we know they are mostly terrible) I have two eyes I can read with. All they really have to do is translate the basics and of course the story. I just wanna play! Gaming companies need to stop this exclusive nonsense and be open and share through out the whole world (Mostly NA, JP, EU).

I agree about the sharing and actual translation work really depends on the title, but usually they don't take that long. However, the input of the translation can be quite cumbersome. This is mainly because you have a translator trying to work with a coder when the code monkey usually doesn't speak the language being applied. These companies now operating with Global development like SQEX for example are bridging this gap much better. SEGA is about to take a big leap in this by merging all of their offices into one in JP, so the NA/EUR workers will be moving to Japan and working side by side in all development stages.

Wow. Eidos reminds me of playing time splitters 2 on my gamecube (Which has a better map maker than Halo 3) and takes me back. I live SE and i think this could open up some FPS doors. And i hope it does.

That reminds me of some game devoleper. Can't remember what game, i think it was the guy that make's all the metal gears, and he said that his dream was for one console that all companies worked for, and made better, therefor making gaming better.

Yup, Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid), Yu Suzuki (Virtua Fighter), and Tomonobu Itagaki (Dead or Alive) have all been quoted in previous interviews as wishing there was one Global console that developers could concentrate on to make better games. They don't like sacrificing game quality to put a title on an inferior system.
