Reputation: 66Quad is still a waste of money at this stage of the game. Maybe in a year they'll be worth buying.
What the hell are you smoking..?!:
Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 4.8GT/S: $363.99
Intel Core i7 940 Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.93GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 4.8GT/S: $754.99
Won't put the 965 price, because that one is expensive!
get a 3 core phenom ...just to be weird..when ppl ask just say 'im tricoring b*itch' and then slap them. you will start a new trend and 3 core processors will finally run the world.

lol most games don't fully utilize 2 cores let alone 4,I would just save my beans and get an i7.
E8400 - E8500 is your best bet if your on a cash restricted diet,GA-EP45-UD3P is nice cheap board and ram they practically give away.
Can easily OC the E8400 to 4ghz on that board.
Also beat them to 6.5ghz
Reputation: 198overclocking even needed to have smooth gameplay if you have near-top of the line processors and graphics cards and other parts? unless you are a graphics ***** and plan to play Crysis on the ultra maximum settings, I don't think its even needed to overclock right?
and if i remember, overclocking constantly will permanently crack your computer.
