Default I am going to start working out

Since a lot of you guys are gamers I just want to know how a gamer should go about on working out. I don't want my skinny Asian body anymore and I want to be buff and fit, toned and muscular.

I was planning to go to the gym with my parents and start on lifting weights.

    Any tips?

First of all *thumbs up* Second of all, why buff? Should just go working out for your health not so much of what you look like People are to judgemental these days :P. But as for the answer, I would start off slow with doing 2 reps-5reps a day. With lifting weights.

    Btw, asian people rock :3

Anyone know a good rotation I can do at home?
I'm pretty fit but I want to be more healthy.

Bicycle exercise for abs, is on my list.

This right here tells me that you're going to give up, and you're going to give up early on.

You're like 12 and most of us aren't even "gamers". Second of all, I think I can safely assume that you think that you get buff really fast. It takes months,

U can always look up some fitness programs/books, stuff like http://www.fullfitness.net/abs.html or watch videos eg. p90x stuff... etc ...
If you want to be more heathy, exercise alone wont help, you need a strict diet.

Well my parents have membership at our local gym. And also I want a toned, muscular body.

Step 1) Turn on Guitar Hero (Any console that supports this game is good, except the DS)

Step 2) Choose a song on MEDIUM (If you are good try Hard)

Step 2*) Make sure this song isn't to easy.

    Step 3) Play.

Step 4) Look at your well-toned muscular body.

Grow a few years older before getting a toned, muscular body. Working out intensively to get a "muscular body" at your age, is just a total waste of time.

It will take you at least 3 months, for now every morning drink a big glass of milk, after work out another glass, when you go to sleep another glass. It will help your muscle development, and just go to the gym. Trust me you will see results.

You're going to fail simply because your goals are unrealistic. Set SMALL goals for yourself, and work towards them slowly. Don't get the image of you with Vin Deisel's body and think you can get there in a year.

It also takes more than just lifting weights two or three times a week to really accomplish anything, but you CLEARLY haven't done your homework, so I'm not going to waste my time getting into that.

Here's a tip, and it's the best you're going to get: Stop asking people to s****-feed you what you need to know, and figure it out for yourself.

You shouldn't discourage him. Also, intense lifting 3 times a week -does- do something.

Yeah what some people here are saying is right. You shouldn't work the same body parts every day because you get bigger and stronger when you're muscles are torn (during lifting) and rebuilt bigger when during recovery time. I personally like this workout. Higher reps are probably better for you if you're new to lifting because you need to build a base first, and wouldn't want yourself getting hurt early on.

    Monday/Thursday:
    Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, Biceps
    3x10

    Flat Bench Press
    Flat Bench Dumbbell Fly's
    Dumbbell Shoulder Press
    Lateral Raises
    Bicep Curls - Barbell
    Lying Tricep Extensions
    Bicep Curls - Dumbbell
    Tricep Dips (until failure)

    Tuesday/Friday:
    Legs, Back, Traps, Forearms
    3x10

    Squats
    Standing Calf Raises
    Leg Extensions
    Wide-Grip Pull-ups
    Lat Pull-Downs
    Dumbbell Shrugs
    Forearm Curls (until failure)

Also, diet is extremely important! You want protein and less fats/carbs. Cut all the junk from your diet, or eat it in extreme moderation.

On the days you don't lift, run 30 mins, and go do abs. On days you do lift, run slowly preworkout for 15 minutes. Don't run too fast either because running fast will end up burning more muscle instead of fat!

Abs themselves aren't impressive if you are skinny. Like with people who just run all day and are super skinny, yet can't bench 80 pounds. They are impressive when that part along with the rest of your body is cut, and you are jacked. Most people only focus one part though, either getting huge and strong, or lean and cut. They don't really mix unless you really watch what you eat and are dedicated to your workout.

No pretty much everyone is the same, it's depending on physical condition; not race. If you never did athletics in school or you did over 2 years ago, you're going to be starting out very low. Rest is important as it allows you to get some protein and calories back in to you, as well as stretch your muscles out to prevent injury. If you follow that workout plan, you'll be looking forward to that rest period, trust me

from the looks of it, you said your skinny so I'll assume you have a high metabolism which isn't bad. If you wanna be super buff, you gotta lift weights and add more each week( it takes years btw.) You can eat whatever you want, gain weight and burn it. The reason people tell you to go on a diet is 1 to become health and two to burn fat which in this case you don't have.

Why do you want to gain weight and burn it? When you can just burn it and gain muscle at the same time, and gain that weight in muscle not fat? If you get fat and burn it, you will have excess skin. That will not give him the buff look........

He won't need protein shakes, because they are nasty and doesn't really do much. If you drink the same amount of milk and the same amount of protein shake. You will get more protein out of the milk. Whole milk has like 9 gram of protein in a very small cup.
