Default Dungeons & Dragons Online or Lord of the Rings Online... Which to choose?

Such a hard decision as I kinda want to play both. Had been going to resub back to DDO since I like the addition of Hirelings and the upcoming Mod 9, when I got an e-mail today where I can buy LOTRO w/ Mines of Moria Expansion for $9.99 so it put a kink in my decision. Such a hard deal to pass up. Anyone playing either at the moment got an opinion.

I have no interest in the "Those games suck, you should play X." posts, but you are welcome to post such crap.

I personaly would go for Lotro, this is because D&D didn't really feel like a MMO and I found it hard to get into (but I may try the trial again). The thing really holding back Lotr is the combat, it feels so boring and it doesn't even look cool.

Yeah, DDO suffers from the lack of social interaction at times, but if you can find a decent guild that becomes less of an issue. Also, I can probably talk 1-2 friends at least into playing with me, so that becomes less of an issue. LOTRO I enjoyed in beta, but not enough at that time to subscribe.

LOTRO. The storyline is just.... wow. 9.99 too? I'd go for it.

Yeah, they are running a 2nd Anniversary special where you get LOTRO w/ MoM for 9.99 currently. Also, if you subscribe for 3, 6, or 12 months you get it for 9.99 a month. $199 I think also gets you the lifetime membership.

It's the only one I am aware of that does this right off hand.

When do you finish exams? They are doing the special pricing through June 30th.

Also, about D&D Lore you don't have to be that familiar with it because they used Eberron as the setting for DDO which is the newest setting and easiest for them to just create content for. If they had used Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance they'd be more popular, but you'd have more *****ing as well. Forgotten Realms is what the Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter's Night series of games are based off of.

Can't afford the LTM right now because I have to buy a new TV soon. My gaming TV has started to go to hell, so I am looking for a nice 26-32 inch LCD HD just for my console gaming. I don't play games on my 48 HD cause it's projection and I still don't trust gaming on them. My 32 RCA CRT is dying and it just makes me sad because the colors are just so vibrant.
