anyways, its not like it matters, there are so many varying opinions on what it means to be "vegetarian" it makes me sick.

when did vegetarian become a political movement rather than a particular lifestyle choice like smoking or cr*pping into plastic carrier-bags?

whatever you do dude just dont become elitist. i dont know squat but i imagine not eating meat and getting your meat vitamins elsewhere is probably beneficial to your health.
exactly, im not trying to be vegan here.

i just want to eat better for me.

and i am already cutting back on the junk food. when i do eat it, it is ususally just pretezels and things that arent too bad for you.

the next step i see is cutting out meat, because, as a lot of people on this forum and sources say, it is healthier without meat ( NOT INCLUDING EGGS)

people think if your vegatarian, you HAVE to be vegan.
im only doing this for health purposes, not to save the animals and become a PETA ****.

I will not become elitest, if anything, i'll probably be made fun of for a while in the beginning by my buds.

if you are doing it for health purposes why just don't EAT BALANCED? instead of cutting meat altogether?

just cut the stupid junk food altogether, that's all you need to get a better health, instead of eating grasy meat cooked with oil, why don't you just eat grilled meat with olive oil, some onions, a healthy salad of tomatoes, lettuce, onions, etc etc and a small bowl of rice? and best of things, eat at your home, with food cooked by yourself, that's what I do everytime, I just stoopped eating outside altogether

and for all sakes, just don't eat processed meat

i dont think you get it.
cutting meat out completely creates a healthier diet.

i dont even like steak and things like that anyway.

    more of a sandwich person.

but you just said you wanted to be vegetarian out of your own health even tho you already said you like and loved to eat crap fast food, that makes no sense, do not blame meat for your own crap lifestyle, that's the part you don't get, and by saying cutting meat out completely creates a healthier diet you are just being elitist yourself in which anybody that eatd meat have a crappy diet

if you want to be vegetarian out of your own like because you don't like how meat taste then do it, that's fine, but do not try to shield your own crappy lifestyle blaming everything else but you

It's like the fat people blaming meat for making them fat, it's not the meat's fault, it's the own fat people's fault for eating meat cooked in grassy oil, eating pork chops and fat meat, and not having a single dose of Vegetables and balanced diet

me?, I have no excess weight, never had a surgery in my life, normal levels of colesterol, never had problem with blood pressure etc etc etc, and I've been eating meat for a long time, I just don't eat like you or most people do, just good meats cooked well and in balanced diets

motherf*ckers at my local chicken shop started using tofu in their chicken nuggets because its cheaper or whatever.

i been eating them for months saying "damn these taste different", then i found out a couple weeks ago. (there was a big handwritten sign)

i hate tofu personally. no matter how people try to dress it up its still bloody tofu.

What they're trying to say is being healthy isn't about being vegetarian or not.
You can be even MORE unhealthy by cutting out meat. Or you can be very smart and healthy with no meat. Meat isn't even a factor.
Eating fatty crap, etc, is what matters so if you want to eat a good healthy diet just do it. It's not true to say oh if I just stop eatin meat I'll be super healthy.

If you are going to do it a smart way, stop saying being vegetarian is way healthier when you know yourself that its about how you do it.

I'm a vegetarian, but its quite easy for me, as I dislike the taste of most meat entirely. It really is easy to give up food that you find revolting! :P
If you do chose to become a vegetarian, make sure to check you're getting the right quantities of nutrients from your foods, and if not, get supplements ;-;.

there is a girl in my school who is vegan and is extremely overweight so dont think of vegetarianism as a necessarily healthy alternative.

I like to think of it like this, cows are vegetarians also.

No, you aren't. You aren't considered a damn vegetarian if you eat fish, or eggs. Okay?
I'll grant you fish, but vegetarian has different definitions depending on the culture or the reason for being a vegetarian. Someone who is a vegetarian for health reasons will practice different restrictions than a person who is doing it for religious reasons, yet I think that they are still vegetarians because they are not eating meat.

Animal products, on the other hand, are very different from meat. Cows produce milk and chickens produce eggs naturally. It's not like you have to kill a chicken or a cow to get the product, and it's not like you're actually eating the cow or chicken; you're eating a byproduct of theirs.

To give an analogy: When you eat an apple, you are not eating an apple tree, you are eating the fruit of an apple. Likewise, when you are eating cheese, you are not eating the flesh of a cow, you are eating something that the cow produced.

I'm sorry, but no one's going to take your post seriously if you're just going to arbitrarily state an opinion as if it's fact and requires no backing up, or reasoning, or anything whatsoever to support it. Having debated and discussed other topics with you on this forum in the past, I've noticed you have a habit of doing that.

What do you mean vegetarian? Eating like 75% veggies and 25% meat?

That egg "could" have been a chicken, but to feed you it was left unfertilized and robbed of its right to live a full life.

    You vegetarian monsters!

Commercial eggs usually aren't fertilized therefore it never has the potential to become a chicken. Although fish not being a meat makes no sense to be because fish are animals.

it's what I'm saying, doesn't matter if you become a vegan, stop eating meat altogether or whatever, it means squat if you have an unhealthy way of living

it's like being a vegan and putting 3 liters of ketchup, mayonaise and mustard on top of a salad, "look at me, I'm a vegan, I eat healthy"

We're capable of eating meat naturally, doesn't mean you have to.

We also have hair on our scalps to keep our heads warm, but you don't go out in the Winter without wearing a hat, do you?

There are healthy people that follow various eating habits. Pick one you like and stick to it. I generally eat a lot of soup, salad and pasta/noodle type dishes but every now and then I get a craving for a burger and fries. It's not a big deal.
