Default Hanging out with guys o.O"

I always thought that guys are really similar to girls at hanging out with them. If you look just a bit diffrent they don;t even want to talk to you, or if they change like their style they suddenly start ignoring/irritate you I always wondered why guys are like that?xD Aren't we just the types that just really want to have fun, why care about popularity?

That's actually different per country. Here (in the Netherlands) this is incredibly bad...

I don't really care. If people don't like me, so what? Screw them.

It's not really a question of gender, rather that of personality.

Generally though, guys don't naturally care about the overall appearance (in terms of style and whatnot) of their other male friends.

Where I'm from nobody really cares when or how you change. Here in the US it's whole another story. And guys aren't same as girls. GIrls seem to care less for change than guys do (that is, when you change, not them).

Good luck finding some true homies. I've been friends with my friends my whole life...FSU.
I mostly hang out with girls, cause guys don;t really like me for multiple reasons. One of reasons is hanging out with alot of girls xD It's not really simple to find the same type of people when all skaters I used to hang out with gone to some hiphopper shizzle and such >.< Atm I don;t really care, but sometimes I want to do guy stuff again xD Like play basketball how I used to play >.< Now it's mostly sitting lazy on my ***, feeling uncomfortable when they suddenly talk about guys, even though the bi girls talk about girls only xD

    Yeah that's true.

But I'm not gonna hang out with someone who looks like a slob all of the time or someone who I think makes me look bad.

Maybe it's shallow, but remember, you are judged by the company you keep.

Yeah, I agree. That's why I was a little reluctant in saying what I did, because appearance does matter to everyone (or at least mostly everyone) to a certain extent.

I think you have the two sexes mixed up.... Men don't give a damn what another male looks like they care about the personality. Females at a younger age will discriminate against those that wear different clothing or change dramatically. (That's not to say men don't do this at a young age but they tend to do it in a much small way).

Sounds like you are a shallow person from this comment. Just because your friends switched to hiphopping shizzling whatever the hell that means doesn't mean you stop hanging. It most likely means they found a different crowd to hang with at tough horrible Oh no life sucks high school. But you can still hang and all that fun shit.

In HS, what you wore is where you belonged. However, if you're the opposite sex, that didn't really matter.
If you wear baggy pants, well you know where you belong. If you wear tight or casual ones, you know where you belong. Those never really mixed.
However, baggy or not baggy, naked or clothed, you could always speak to the opposite sex. So, in my case, girls could care less how I dress because they will talk to me no matter what. However, if I'm not wearing what my male friends are, then prepare to receive criticism.

I've always had way more female friends than guy friends.

I just feel there're too many limits on what you can get out of being friends with a guy.

Middle school - Don't like Pokemon or a certain cartoon? then you wont fit in.

High School - Not a ***** or a thug? Don't do drugs? You wont fit in.

18+ - Not a drunk? Don't like Sports? Like rap music? You wont fit in.

I try not to "Fit in".

Your friends sound shallow and are all about the "Mainstream". I'd question your situation.. Not males in general.

While the highschool situation he presented didn't apply to myself, those generalizations are pretty spot on.

I can't say I've een those generalisations happen enough to say they're spot on.

Maybe I'm just the exception, because I was different enough to remain different, but not unapproachable to the point that I was an outcast. I was just the guy everyone knew and either liked or disliked.

I think that's best. Be so varied that nobody can catagorise you. Have enough about you that means you can fit in, but have enough that makes you stand out.

Oh, I fully agree. I don't think that those specific generalizations did or do apply to everyone. And I do agree that it's usually best to not fall in to a certain "group". If gaining popularity/acceptance means giving up what makes you you, then it isn't worth it. People should like you for who you are and nothing else.

    Don't ever sell yourself short.

Well, what i said wasn't about me either. As i dropped out of high school anyway. But i've seen similar situations happen.

When i was younger i saw kids rejected in a group because they weren't into games or trading cards.

Later on i saw someone get picked on and beat up because his dress style wasn't "Cool" and he didn't smoke pot.

Adults i see are often drunk, hate rap music and kids with baggy clothes.

A lot of people seem like "If you don't have the same opinion as me/us then you wont fit in".

That's just what i see. i can't judge everything like that though.
