Seriously, even if you get the "being a hero through a game" rush at one point, you will soon get bored of it. It is merely an illusion of grandeur. If you really want to have a hero feeling, then go look at the people that matter to you and try to do something special for them; although it is easier said than done.

I didn't say they aren't fullfilling, in any other point, I just said that is a point i miss in MMOs.

    I never asked for depth?

In fact i didn't even request a game, just wanted to talk about the fact that no MMO seems to have this and maybe if theres anything planned to change that

Wow...oh wait they have a level 70+ quest where you dig through elephent shit for a random item, thats very heroic.

Everquest 2 has a pretty good storyline.

Im sorry but your advice is weird. Especially since he said he wants a story. WAR has lore but storywise its not all that.
I didn't say WAR is good if you just play it solo. You have to have a good guild, vent, strategy, and the right situation. Obviously you have never had 10 allies with you owning 20-30 enemies, because I have. And it felt good.

And GW is a joke now. It's story sucks, it's not casual, and most importantly, there is no way you feel "heroic". You just want to finish missions, kill people in PvP and earn some more point for skills. But I doubt you could even do that because HoH is almost dead, and many missions lack people to play with.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned Lord of the Rings Online or City of Heroes.

Lord of the Rings Online is EXTREMELY immersive, even being thrown in to the game, you're immidiately thrown in an interesting bit of the game's extensive lore, quests, and amazing community. It follows the original lore to a tee.

City of Heroes makes you actually FEEL like a Superhero, as you are one. With unlimited customization, you make yourself what you want to be and go out and do hero-ly things.

I play with a great guild/alliance thank you. But it doesnt change the fact that your actions have no story behind them or anything. This isnt a have fun topic its about feeling heroic. Dunno about you but in Guild wars i felt pretty damn heroic especially the prophecy story. I didnt just want to finish missions and neither did the team i was with. You cant defend one game saying PUGs are crap then say another one is crap because of PUGs.
