I'm trying this game.. made an acc. Downloaded the game. But it doesnt work when I start the game i get a menu with some options. Start game is not available. I already did the update so now i click register user ID, i want to enter my ID so i pres enter. Now I should be able to type something but then nothing responds, I can only pres escape to get out. What should I do?

EDIT: This is when i start it in the map itself, when i start it in start > all programs i get the city02 error.

Which one? There was many versions of PSO (Phantasy Star Online)
If you downloaded it, it was probably PSOBB (Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst

On some machines/OS' the installer installs a broken Shortcurt or sometimes upon first running the game and updating it, the shortcut will become broken.

Just check the properties of the shortcut. If the field for "Start in:" is blank, enter the path to your PSOBB folder. (For me that's C:\Program Files\Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst)

That should fix the shortcut.

Note: This also is supposed to fix the "Cannot create file 'map_city02_00_00o_s.dat' " problem.
