My point still stands, all you have proven is that you fall into the target consumer base which is extremely small. The idea might not seem dumb to you because you fall into the demographic of somehow not owning a console capable of playing FFXI, would rather not play on the PC, and somehow would pay for the exact same game again just to play it on the PS3. That particular demographic is so small that everyone else who plays the game would consider it a bad idea in lieu of using the time spent to make the game better some other way.
The fact is, unless they completely re-haul the graphics engine that FFXI uses, it's not going to look much better on the PS3 and will just be a waste of potential. While playing FFXI on the PC and using windower to go above and beyond what the game was meant to display, and using my GPU control center to set the anti-aliasing to 12x, the game still didn't look that great. No amount of anti-aliasing will be able to stop my eyes from bleeding while running around South Gustaberg. The "shimmer" of all the lines drawn into the rocky walls is just simply too bad to fix with anti-aliasing, no matter how great it is.
