    Default Need some RTS games

So i want to try some single player RTS.
    Games i played and/or dislike:
    Perimeter(all sequels, expansions)
    Age Of Empires
    Command and Conquer

Now I've heard people discussing about Total War series game and many people hyped about 1 part being so much badass. I can't remember the name of the game. If it was Empire then I've already tried it. I could try Warcraft III but i don't have official copy so i will have *cough* it.

Medieval II Total War would be the best in the series followed by RomeTW. Those two are a lot better than EmpireTW.

You can also try Supreme Commander and its expansion.

You can also try Company of Heroes if you're into the whole war setting:

Can't really think of anymore off the top of my head. I rarely stick to an RTS for more than a month or two, but I remember those being pretty fun.

If you find something else, lemme know

The lack of StarCraft in this thread disappoints me.

It's not one of the most popular RTSes ever, even when it is ten years old, for no reason.

Everyone already knows about SC, no point mentioning it.

aside from what was mentioned, there's Total Annihilation, Homeworld series, Dark Reign 1 & 2, Dune 2k and Emperor: Battle for Dune, Ground Control, and probably a few more I'm forgetting.

The original Medieval: Total war was way better in terms of the campaign map strategy I felt. They tacked too many pointless things on to that part of the game in the later sequels, which make it way less fun. Plus the political/alliance system they have now just doesn't work very well. Sure the graphics kind of suck now, but that matters alot less to me. Then again, as I just said, I'm not really playing it for the RTS element at all. You probably have a different perspective on what's important.

I also reccomend: Warcraft 2 and 3 (assuming you haven't already played them), and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War.

I am playing Warcraft 3 now and man i suck. I am no match for even the easiest enemy computer
Warhammer 40k is a great game. Remember playing it a lot with my friends in LAN against computers.
Will probably try it again and maybe Civilization IV.

EDIT:I am not a fan of WWI or WWII games.
