Default BING vs GOOGLE vs YAHOO.

It didn't came into my attention until somewhat, somewhere I stumble upon Microsoft's new babe - Bing.

Seeing how I've compared it with Google and Yahoo, most of you would have guessed it right:

Yes, Bing is Microsoft's Search Engine.

Don't get me wrong - I am not here to do promotion but more or less Bing has some nifty features I believe you guys may want to take a look at it.

Some links below that deserves attention:

    http://www.bing.com/explore?FORM=BXLH

    To music lovers: http://www.bing.com/xrank/?FORM=ZDLE4

(Basically shows you statistics of what people is searching for and list it down neatly)

These stuffs are pretty much self-explanatory.

Some of the highlights I really love:

I love image searching on Bing because it functions similarly to Cooliris which saves you the trouble of clicking "Page 1, Page 2, etc". It display pictures in small thumbnails and surfing just seems alot less of a hassle. There's no need to download applications or anything. It's all integrated into the webpage itself and I was like .

    News.

I just typed in "H1N1" and it gives me very recent articles (There's one that was created 27 minutes ago. The engine manage to "sniff" it out that quickly!?) whereas Google tend to give you some links from wikipedia and the recency of entries are "jumbled" all over, because it does not categorise as effectively as Bing. You're able to toggle between "All Results" (which seems to be what Google has always been doing) and "News". Something that's fresh and I am pretty much inclined to use Bing instead of Google now, .

    How about Yahoo?

Yahoo Music/News is always spearheading the rest i.m.o.

At this point of time I would place Yahoo up on par with Bing (or perhaps slightly better).

Google needs to be more pro-active and more competitive then it should right now.. (Especially on advertising.)
I feel there's a need to refurbish their homepage. Bing looks really stylish with all the vibrant displays that makes Google look kind of plain.

Also, Bing tied in Windows Live (seen on the top left hand corner). This is one way in which Microsoft entices you to make Bing as your homepage so you can do your multi-tasking from there onwards. (Just like Gmail.) Imagine Hotmail users start to shift their attention to this new babe - Google's search share will be greatly affected.

    Something awesome is coming up.

    What's next?

Microsoft's-own-social-network-site + Messenger + Search Engine and everything?

    Wahahaha interesting

It didn't came across to be clear-cut kind of thing. I just love how Bing is able to organise its stuffs. Noticed how they placed all the "Image, News" strategically nearer to the search box because these things tend to come as a whole i.m.o.

As for the recency thingy - Let me figure out what is it I what to say rofl.

There must be a distinction or else I won't bother putting it there, hmm.

Wolfram isn't a search engine, just a fancy calculator. And since when was Yahoo a contender these days?
