I liked LOTRO.

Just save up your money for ff14. :3
She knows how to party.
Reputation: 119Well if you liked WoW before then that would be obvious choice...
If you hated getting parties in FFXI then stay away it really didn't get better especially since you can't make a character on the high population servers.
Warhammer - Fun, though fairly short lived
Lord Of The Rings - Great but level cap is fairly small and you soon find out there isn't too much content.
Everquest 2 - Never met a lot of people when I played so I can't judge really
Age of Conan - Got a level 80, and I must say the game is fantastic but buggy, lack of patches and lack of content...crafting is useless since everyone buys gold with real money so you *have* to farm your own materials.
City of Heroes - Not a whole lot of people playing but it was an interesting game nonetheless
I currently play CoH and this isn't true. Play this one if you want the best character customization ever. Since its in a large city theres not really any sense of adventure though. Personally its good trade off for it not being another generic swords and magic fantasy mmo like WoW (i dare not say FF11 or I will have my *** handed to be in pieces).
If I had to pick something other than CoH, Age of Conan would the top choice, next would Lord of the Rings Online. If you manage to find a decent guild in Age of Conan or at least make some friends, you'll have the time of your life.
For City of Heroes its easy as pie to get into group 90% of the time, especially now with player created missions that auto level every so that anyone of any level can play together.
Heres what you should do, play the trial for CoH and play with the character customization, Then play until lvl 14 with a class that you can stick with. You get some really cool powers, andt they only get cooler. Then Play Age of Conan's trial. Theres nothing much in the character creation there, but the quests/missions and combat are amazing. After that, you'll know your choice.
Wow is a decent mmo, but its just so...wow-like![]()

(lol, joke)
I'm gonna lurk here, need advice on EQ2
WoW and EQ2 are the only games worth paying.
Everything else is kinda dying.
AoC full of bugs, ppl are leaving the game everyday, they had to shutdown lots of servers cuz of low population.
L2 is boring as hell.
Warhammer I think u can lvl till lvl 40 or something like that which I dont like.
FF I never liked the idea of making FF an online game, I only liked FF cuz of the story but thats only for offline series.
City of Heroes I thought this game was long dead. >_<
Eve online is a hard game and its in space I like only fantasy games so its no fun for me.
I never tried Lord of the Rings but it seems like a nice game I cant give u any opinion about LotR.
It sounds like you played most of these games when they came out or not at all.
-AoC doesn't have that many bugs, there aren't too many people leaving the game and theres a ton of peopel joining everyday
-WoW is goof for those who have either never played an mmo at all or have only played f2p ones.
-FF11 is a decent game with a good story, you just need a ton of time to enjoy it
-City of Heroes is one of the most successful western mmos of all time. Its never been anywhere near dying
-Eve isnt a game, its a demonic force from hell that will explode your brain unless you are some kind of weirdo
-LotR is worth looking at, great for casual gamers.
I stopped by a local newspaper and magazine distributer in germany and opened an mmo mag, which had a ranking.
According to their "public" ranking:
1. WoW 95
2. LoTR 85
3. Warhammer 84
4. AoC 83
-------------------------
The staff rated AoC a 78% as far as I remember, which isn't really that good, in my opinion, good p2p games should be in the 80% rates atleast.
I am really jumping between LoTR and WoW.
The fact you can play a monster in lotr is cool, but I need more info on that.
I need something with depth, many races, and beautiful graphics (I can run anything max, far as I know.)
WoW:has a decent world to look at but it gets old fast pvp has become terrible and pve has turned too easy this new patch they have in the works looks interesting though
Lorto:is easy on the eyes will have you looking at the game rather than playing iti have not played it long enough to judge pvp i have no clue on i have watched some pve videos and it looked great
AoC:is also a game that is easy on the eyes with graphics pvp is decent but is best played with a group of friends pve looks boring and simple in aoc from the videos i have watched have not played to 80 but i have got to level 62 in aoc i had fun with the game then quit due to all of my friends quitting
EQ2:i played the trial graphics and the world are amazing but quit due to having nobody to play with i played EQ1 for a long time and would like to try EQ2 with some people if interested
if you decide on a game let me know i might try it with you so it will not be boring for you as it was for me![]()
im confused y do people keep putting games u gotta pay for in free mmo section ( i keep finding games but i gotta pay sniff)
what games have you been thinking of playing? Paladin Catling im curious
lotro, probably.
What classes do they have?
all the info you will need on lotro classes

details on classes and what races can play right there![]()
Try Planetside. It's buckets of fun.
Also, try Pirates of the Burning Sea. It's pretty cool too.
Reputation: 39Out of all the p2p games, the only that I've played have been WoW and WAR.
Now I've been playing WAR for a while and its probably one of the best options you'll have for a good p2p MMO. Some of the core features include the ability to engage in mass pvp as early as level 1, and earn good items, experience and loot from doing it. There are also 24 classes(2 realms, 3 races per realm, 4 archetypes per race)-and each archetype has its own special mechanic (such as rage or balance) that you must master to be good at the class.
Now, someone said that WoW is for PVE and WAR is for PVP but I disagree.
The PvE in WAR is very engaging and easy to get into the-the quests are very similar to WoW but have engaging plot roles and give you lore unlocks.
In terms of dungeons there are about 10 Public Quests per map and they are designed from anywhere to 2 to 9+ people. You can go to any of these and join people already doing the special quests to f ight some pretty intense bosses and be eligable for great loot drops.
WAR also adds new content frequently (already 4 new classes and 1 new zone) and unlike WoW, all new content is FREE.
Now for the selling point and arguable the best thing about WAR; The RvR(Race vs Race)
Right next to your map is a button to queue for scenarios which you can use anytime. On availability(anywhere from instant-5 minutes on my server), you are given the option to go to a pre-balanced skirmish match based around capturing and holding some kind of objective with your team. 24 classes keeps this RvR very satisfying and the game will boost your stats to help you compete in your Tier. (If your Tier 1{1-11}, and you join as a level 2, you will get the stats of a level 8 to make you worthwhile on the battlefield)
Then there is Open RvR which take place in the middle of maps in which masses of people will fight to take objectives and fortresses. By capturing all of them on a map you will lock the zone and every ally on that map will receive bonuses and reward tokens. At Tier 4, this open RvR will shift from map to map as you consistenly fight for territory and a chance to push the enemy all the way back to their capital-where you can raid their city and even kill their King(earning you the best gear in the game)
I would definitely say Everquest 2 or Final Fantasy XI.
Final Fantasy XI - is unique and there is so so much that you haven't experience yet if you only got to second job 15. Finding a party is easy since they added level sync (basically your level restricts to the lowest in the party, but you still get XP towards your current level.) and the community (on Diabolos anyway) is always really helpful and friendly towards me.
Everquest 2 - Amazing game, I play on Antonia Bayle (currently inactive though) and once again amazing community. You find some jerks here and there but the good seems to out populate the bad. Finding a party is not necessary (Very easy to solo in this game) but easy to do if you're in the mood for some interaction.
I've played others off your list but these two are definitely my favorite.
LOTRO is decent. But I'd prefer more fancy looking armors, and more solo-able quests.
CoH is a great game, but I hate AE...... Very few people still do the real game's content. THe rest lock themselves up in AE and do players' made quests for quick level instead. How much adventure you need to take away from CoH ?
Just adding my 2 cents in on FFXI.
I recently just started up and the game has changed for the good. The experience from Decent Challenge monsters and down has been dramatically increased if your fighting with your nations Signet active. I'm currently at a few minutes past two hours in playtime and already level 10.
Server populations mostly don't matter much into the factor of getting parties since the addition of Level Sync. I'm playing on a low population server, Pandemonium, and so far didn't find any trouble for a party into Dunes.
Fields of Valor has added a solo-quest element into the game where you get an objective to kill X amount of monsters every hour and it gives you a nice little boost in EXP and Gil to speed up the leveling process.
Granted that a lot of people are probably jumping ship, including myself, it's still a decent option to keep you busy. If your looking to endgame pretty fast, I heard you can Summoner-burn your way to 75 with a dedicated group in about a week with Signet's and FoV quests.
