Trying to figure something out

Alright, I need some help choosing a computer. I've been searching for a computer that can run every game on high (or most at least). This is what I'm trying to get.

I want to get this computer:

I know the processor is kind of weak but I'm not really sure why is the processor even required. If anyone can, please explain if this is good or if I should just try something else?

Do you exactly have a set budget for the entire PC with its peripherals?
Or are you just trying to go for more value / bang for buck?

That pc provided in your post with that Mid-range graphics card should be able to handle
most source engine games/ MMORPGs at high, but definitely wont have a chance at higher
up games such as Crysis.. MAXING out games with full Anti-Aliasing probably wont happen either.

I guess what matters is what games are you exactly going to be playing...

PS: Building your own pc would definitely be more beneficial if your looking for more performance

Thanks for the response, yeah I'm at a budget too. I would build my own PC but they tend to go too far up in price for me to attempt that. I hit the games pretty hard, I basically play games like prototype, oblivion, fallout 3 and any others that get high ratings basically.

Im going to just guess your budget would be around $1000 including the entire desktop pc so in regards to the HP you posted, I think that the price might be worth it considering you get your keyboard, mouse, and monitor along with it too, but you would definitely have to upgrade your graphics card, which just adds to the price, while that processor is pretty mediocre compared to mainstream core 2 duos.

You're right about the budget, sorry about not typing it. So would you say that one of the two gts 250's would work well?

The GTS 250s will probably not work (just realized)
This is due to how unreliable of a power supply the computer probably has..

I think the card's website states that the usual minimum of power required to run is around 450w while most
pre-built pcs only have around 300w, cant say unless i find it though >.>

A safer solution could be to buy a PC with the graphics card you want already installed
So, the power supply should be capable of handling it, then you could probably buy a monitor/keyboard/mouse seperatly
for an under-budget price

EDIT: 4850 is a VERY similiar card to the GTS 250 in terms of performance but is around $20-30 cheaper
