    I have Sennheiser Earbuds also, they're pretty good, the volume goes really loud and people near you can't hear anything. It also came with a little pouch, a bunch of different ear pieces (like 10) and a little base where you can roll up the cable and take it to places. It cost me 25 euro's which is like 35 dollars.

    Honestly, the impression you get with the earbuds very much depends on the audio device and it's sound quality as well as the acoustic pattern.

    I have to say that for the ipod touch my earbuds are over the top;
    The audio quality of apple is not really breathtaking and for that reason getting expensive earphones or spending a lot of time on the selection will not get you a massive boost of the sound quality on most portable mp3 players.
    It can also easily be, that the distribution of the bass and heights simply does not go well with your device individually. I don't know of any way to figure that out beforehand.

    those are the BEST i ever had, till some punk stole them.
    Skullcandy is more of the looks, and you won't have a good quelity one if you don't pay 70-120euro for them. Audio technica has some good ones and in terms of sound they are one of the best in my oppinion. If I would recommend him some headphones I would go for the WeSC BONGO. Looks aren't to shabby and I they have everything you need from sound to durabillity.

    A pair of Grados or Sennheisers if you can afford them.

    The Koss Porta Pros are your best bet.

    They come with a lifetime warranty. If something goes wrong with them you ship them back to the company and they fix them. These headphones have been around since 1984 and are still popular.

    They are one of the highest rated headphones under 100 USD and have awesome sound. They still have that 1980s retro feel to them. They sound great and the bass is there without drowning out other audio.

    I just got mine for my birthday and they are great! I hear things in music that I never noticed before. The headphones fold up easily and come with a nice pouch to put them in.

    The headphones are priced around 30-40 dollars. I suggest using Amazon.com because there are always fakes around.

    Trust me you can't go wrong with these headphones.

    The only set back is that they are open ear headphones, meaning that they aren't quiet to others around you.

    Obviously.

    @Raiyne:
    The difference you notice depends on the music.
    If you put on some serious classic, you'll instantly take note of the detail of the sound that either comes across or doesn't as well as in the more quiet parts, if you hear something or just background noise. General RocknRoll won't have you notice a subtle difference that just isn't there, as it's not what the music is about.

    ATH-AD700.

    http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-A...5863344&sr=8-1

    Mid to high (sorta) end headphones by Audio Technica. Open ear design, I realize from what you typed you wanted closed ear. But that's just silly, the quality you get from open ear design > closed ear design any day. You create a better sound stage without having a muddy bass.

    Amazon will sell you these for under 100 dollars and compared to the previously said Grados these are more than a competition for them. Not to mention they're as sick as they are for general music as they are for gaming.

    I own a pair myself and its pretty hard to use any other headphones to listen to anything now, and someone said earlier if you need that extra kick to your bass get yourself the Fiios headset amplifier. Reasonably priced with all the quality to boot, I'd highly recommend these.

    The Siberias are nice, I'm wearing a pair right now. Good value for money and they're nice and comfortable, however, if you're going for sound quality, there are other headphones which do have an edge. Regardless, they are a very nice pair and sound quite good too. =P

    Yea, but if it looks like designed by and for 12 year olds, it's hard to keep up an image of a technically sophisticated product.

    Just my 2 cents.
