Mythic and BioWare Form New RPG/MMO Group

In major news, two leading studios merge into EA's RPG/MMO group. With this change Ray Muzyka, co-founder and GM of BioWare, will now lead the charge. Rob Denton will become new GM of Mythic and report to Ray.

Effective June 23rd Mark Jacobs will leave EA. Mark was a major part in the success of Mythic and played a key role in the development of Warhammer Online.

Whats down the road as these two studios merge? Only time will tell.

They kind of have to keep war running... People still pay and play for it. the only reason they'd stop running WAR is financial issues.

well, this is good news indeed (as well as mark jacobs being fired), both companies have talented individuals, can't wait to see a game made from them

I meant is their focus of the moment going to be WAR, or is it going to be a new game, with a side team keeping WAR updated/fixed.

i'd say that this is the first step that will unavoidably lead to pulling WAR's plug...

probably the beginning of the end for warhammer as we know it(not that it wasn't almost lifeless already, it wasn't really in a position to be killed off).
