    Psychiatrist and religion?

Do you even know what is a psychiatrist?

Do you even have the slightest idea of what you're asking, and what you do want out of it?

I may be a little harsh here, but it certainly seems like you have no idea what you're talking about, at all.

(Unless you're talking about how religion influence the way you work - Money before religion.)

My psychology teacher is a christian >.>

She still taught us alot about spiritual health and how whether or not religion is real, the fact that people truly believe in it is all that matters. People underestimate hope, drive, optimisim, etc. They are incredibly strong forces that can push u through many obstacles. For some people they get their hope in religion. They dont think they can get through hard obstacles themselves, so they turn to god, and they have hope that god will push them through it. Now whether "god" actually existed to push them through it doesnt matter, because the hope, drive, and optimism from thinking god will help was enough to get themselves through it. Does it always work? no. But does religion and "god" always get you through every negative time in ur life? No. According to religion he isnt supposed to. They work well off each other. Kind of hard to explain, but thats basically it. I found it very interesting and made a lot of sense.

the religion is just an example

but would you think the way you do now if you knew why you though that way? (tongue twister there but it makes sense if you think about it)

I think you should be talking about neurology more.

A lot of people are scared about knowing how our body works.

They want to feel special but when it all comes down to it we are just a bunch of chemicals, proteins and crap.

but you gotta think, how did all these chemicals and shiz get inside us, and why do they work the way they do?

Like I said the evidence shows how it got there through an evolutionary process.

Even though I highly doubt religion and God and all that nonsense, I can't help but feel the following:

So, basically, there is a 50% chance religion and all that is true, and 50% chance it is not true.

If it turns out a certain religion is true and you believed it, you go to heaven.
If you didn't believe in it, you go to hell.
If it turns out it wasn't true, well you still rot in the ground.

That *sigh* looks like a "I give up" to me.

IF I am wrong and there is no god, well we both end up rotting anyway.

And since when did "believing" become "worshiping" People spending a couple hours on Sunday, and spending a couple seconds before they eat dinner is considered "worshiping"?

I'm not saying I approve of the more extreme religions, such as the middle-eastern ones. But uh....

And why are you saying as if I am a religion extremist? I'm extremely against religion. However, if you want to fight it, you must first understand it and look at it from a different perspective. And that's all I did, provide a different perspective.

Pascals wager does not work because it boils down too "Being a religious hypocrite and if a person can sniff them out then so can god"

interesting,How can you refute Occams razor?

An infinite amount or not, there is a person out there who believes it, and that person is going to heaven. We will either rot or burn in hell.

    Did you watch the video?

and yah sure there is a chance. But there is a chance that overlord xenu will invade the earth and butt **** you and do things worse than hell to you. Now are you preparing to hide in a bomb shelter?

Point being your argument is invalid and sucks.

You need a way to measure a claim to see whether or not it holds evidence to being correct!
well with all the moral issues with me it stands correct. Also It seems to be one the hardest things to do living a moral life.

Humans aren't all-knowing creatures and all we have is rationalization. When we expect the least of it, it's already too late, and when we realize nothing happened, we notice we spent too much time on it.

I already know Pascal's wager is bs, i was just trying to see if I could win an argument. I'm still gonna try though.

Why still try if pascal's wager has been debunked?
