well, I've been looking at Kaneva Game Platform. Its specificly designed for MMO's, and can be tweeked for mmorpg's and such, which is what I'm attempting for my project. I wouldnt call it very user friendly though. but seems to have some good points.

    www.kaneva.com

Might still be down for revisions to the site

I'm looking for a real easy engine to make an MMORPG though that still has real good performance visually, anyone know which one's best?

Sorry, an easy MMORPG engine isn't really possible. But the easiest out there are Kaneva and Mutliverse. I have a current copy of Kaneva if you'd like it. But Multiverse isn't out yet (I would personally wait for Multiverse if I were you).

Psi3D is a rendering engine, still in development, but it's looking very nice. It makes coding a lot simpler.

How about adding this engine to your list.

    http://www.nevrax.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php

This is the website for the NeL engine, which is the same engine that "The Saga of Ryzom" was created on.

Believe it or not, this is a free MMORPG engine.

Only the ones that are blatantly know to be expensive (Photoshop, 3DS Max, etc.), are really the only ones that cost money. Most things on the list are free. And if you're unsure, click on the provided links and you can find out.

Updated the thread/listing. Now free software is marked as such, and some formatting issues were resolved. Also added a handful of new engines/libraries.

    Keep the suggestions coming!

FSO engine is quite a good one too, I'm obsessed with it actually :P

I don't know the new link if there is any other website about it, if there isn't you'll just have to get it from other guys who already have it...

Xilonengine is free, and written in VB
This is a list of free engines.

Also, I heard that they will be releasing a free version of the Unreal engine.

Eclipse is a free 2D Engine.

Wings 3D Wings 3D is a subdivision modeler. It is possible to assign materials, vertex color, UV coordinates and textures, but there will be improvements in those features before Wings goes 1.0.

There is no support in Wings for doing animations.

Ok many engines specifically built for many different types of games... guessing no one knows what type of engine was used to build the simplist of text based browser mmrpg games like mafia wars, war2072.com...
