Reputation: 60WAR has a lot more players, but an absolutely terrible endgame. LOTRO has a smaller playerbase, but the endgame is a lot of fun. So, those are your choices.

Reputation: 60yes comic, i was truly disapointed in wasting 40$ on it.
i was expecting exactly classes and copies from the RTS 40k series..
just think of humans with chainsaw guns, orcs with shoulder rockets..sss *drools*
iinstead, i get this bullshit mirror class system. I have to say though, it was fun for a while (Tier 1 to 2)
Reputation: 18I am glad I didn't pay for it. Anyways, there are much better games coming out this year, single & multiplayer games, I know my money is going to be spent on both. If they made WAR free and gave you the option to opt-out of PvP, then I'd possibly play, but who knows.
WAR is just a huge disappointment
Reputation: 30rings is pretty good at first, but you start to get bored in the 20's only fighting ai. if you like pvp, warhammer's first 11 levels are better than the entire lotr game.
Reputation: 12Well I'm going to have to say WAR. I find no point in playing a p2p MMORPG without PVP.
Reputation: 30you don't have to pvp at all in warhammer. i don't see why you would do that though. warhammer's pve is a bit lack luster compared to other games(end game content-wise, but there are TONS of quests to do to 40). most people level purely on rvr and scenarios.
If your a PvE fanatic, then go for LoTRo.
If you like PvP-ing on a huge scale, then go with Warhammer Online.
Then again both have trials, so you can always try for yourself.
Reputation: 20WAR is much better than lotro IMO. Dunno why.
hurr durr
Like many said before.
LOTRO - Much PvE, almost no PvP
WAR - Much PvP, almost no PvE
Reputation: 31LOTRO.
wakaka
Reputation: 22Welll. . . lotro is fun, but I stopped today, 'cause erm I missed the whole "Wow, you lvld up, now bash someone's head to see the results" concept.
