Default Need help with laptop XP drivers

I just bought a Gateway MD2614u laptop from tigerdirect.ca but it came pre-installed with vista. So I installed XP on another partition just in case so I don't lose Vista 'cept now I'm having trouble with the drivers. I was able to get the graphics drivers to work but that's it. I think I found the correct network adapter drivers but after running the installation nothing happens. I have no idea what to search for the motherboard, the sound, or the webcam etc. drivers.

I read in the reviews that people were able (after a lot of trouble) to get all the drivers necesarry but I don't even know where to start

    Go to http://support.gateway.com

There you will enter the serial number of the computer. ( I have a desktop, the serial was a sticker on the tower). Then you'll be able to download the drivers.

I think I already tried that, although the site looked different when I did o.o. Anyway it came up with nothing the first time, and after trying it with your link I got this http://support.gateway.com/support/d...=pn&param=MD26
    They're all vista drivers =/

I could try using them with XP and hoping it works but that seems pretty sketchy. I know people got it to work somehow.
I was wondering if anyone knew the specific parts and sites where to get the corresponding drivers?

That's weird. You would manually have to get the drivers then. If its a chipset you can easily get the drivers. Run dxdiag and get the name of the graphics driver and audio driver and search for them.

If none of these work, sorry. I'm sure someone here knows. ( Gateways usually come with chipsets, so yours may be here )

Well thanks for the help anyways. I'll run the dxdiag and see if I can find anything out.
