Has anyone experienced a power outage recently?
The area I live in is somehow prone to power failures, even though I live within 10 km of two nuclear power stations. Recently, after a powerful storm yesterday, the power was flicking on an off in 5 second intervals for 5 minutes straight.
An hour after that, we got the most hail we have seen in years. The 120 year old tree in our backyard lost about 1/3 of its leaves from being shredded by the hail.

I doubt it. It just shows that the hydro is and always has been a deteriorating infrastructure that easily fails without any warning.

We used to get them really, really bad around here. Prolly because my area is like the last priority (much bigger places around us). But not this year. The weather has been very mild this year.

Even a 5mph wind used to knock our power out. Hasn't gone out in over 2 years here though, dunno why. We've had some pretty wicked weather too.
