Basically you download Steam, and it's the base platform for downloading all of the Valve games and other games supported by Steam. You can log into your Steam account on ANY computer and play/download any game on that account. It comes with very handy auto update on all games, and a "check files" option. Some people will try and tell you that it blows because you have to be online at all times but they are GIGANTIC DICKS. Steam offers an offline mode so you can enjoy your Steam bought games even while off the net. All in all it's probably one of the best digital distributors out there. And the weekend deals they have from time to time can save you tons of cash.

Download Steam, pick up TF2 (or the Orange Box, which I suggest. you get an assload of games for a great price, and access to mods for Half-Life 2), and have fun.

Add me on Steam if you want. ign: giantsomething

On TF2, it's a nice game worth may more than the price. If you're a serious tourney rapes a lot shooter guy you probably won't enjoy it. If you're looking for some good clean rage time, pick it up. I'd still suggest the Orange Box if you're going to get TF2.

Download steam, make an account, loggin, go to the steam shop, buy TF2 and download it.

I bought it like 1 week after it release and it's still the game that I play the most on my computer. Great game that gets new updates with new content every now and then, unlike other FPS games.

If any-thing ESPECIALLY if your uncertain about your specs.

Just get CS: S with gary's mod.
If you like what you see, Then grab TF2.
Eh, no, CSS and Garry's Mod have nothing to do with TF2 :/

TF2 is a great game. Everyone that enjoys FPS should try it.

raikun09 you could also try and see if someone can grant you one guest key (when you buy the game or the orange box you get 1 guest key), that way you can download the game and play it for 1 day.

I'd recommend getting the boxed version of TF2. =/
The steam network can get pretty loaded when they give a free weekend of any game.

    @offline mode:
Install steam in offline mode, then run steam after install: 'steam.dll not found'.
So you got internet for a sec or two so steam got installed. You lose the internet before you can install anything.
You go on and want to install a steam game:
You must be online to install this game.

I swear I wanted to beat the steam system that day.

Offline mode only works when you have the games already installed.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

Steam is awesome, although you have to be careful with your account. You seriously have to treat it like your own child. Make it as secure as possible in order to avoid getting it hijacked. If you lose your account, you lose all the games along with it, so be extremely cautious.

As far as games go, TF2 is great, but it can be frustrating sometimes if you're not good enough. I whole-heartedly recommend you buy Left 4 Dead. Best co-op FPS, period.

I'm positive you can play it. Just... don't get into 32-people rooms with a bunch of Soldiers/Demos. Laggy explosions are laggy.

i LOVE TF2, its my fav FPS and one of my fav games. def get it, so worth it. steam is cool to, but dangerous if your account is lost. oh and steam commonly has these big *** sales for like 20-75% off so it can become a releee cheap way of buying games. u can join the TF2 onrpg group on steam to find some of us to.

    im iFartz ^.^

Well, it's managed by the same company, and both require Steam. I love TF2, I have other shooters like CoD4 and CoDWaW, but I barely play them..If you like awfully unrealistic yet fun, get TF2.

Hey Raikun. I just bought the game a while ago, and I still have a guest pass which will work for a few weeks. So I can give it to you if you want to try it first. I just got it from Steam as the Orange Box was sold out on all stores.
