    Default Dungeon & Dragons Online

Anyone play this? Is it good? I got into the beta and have been playing for like 5 minutes...not too impressed thus far.

    The game is great.

Skill based combat in that you can dodge hits and aim hits.

Excellent graphics, top of the line for F2P(now that it is). Enable DX10 and all features and you will see.

Items look very nice, armors, weapons come in all kinds of varieties, colors, glows, styles, etc.

    Tons of quests.

Game has you solve puzzles, dodge traps and explore the world(rewards for those that explore every inch of the lands).

There is not a huge open world, but rather big maps you can enter to explore. They have nice vistas that remind me of Age of Conan they look so nice.

While you will not see a lot of players in those big maps, you do have to explore a big area and meet a lot of varieties of enemies, not the same ones over and over.

Then there are the dungeons, hundreds of them, items to find in boxes, treasure chests to open, doors to unlock with lock picking, hidden doors to find, lots of fun for a party or solo.

Endgame has bigger dungeons that you can call Raids i guess of 12 men and not sure if above that even.

Teh game is really different than the rest out there and even though it lacks a big open world for everyone to fight in at once, it is very fun and to me now the b est F2P game out there by far.

I played DDO for a while about a week back. It was a really good game, especially now that it's F2P. The only thing I don't really like is that some of the dungeons you have to purchase in their cash shop.

It is amazing, I just started playing again from last year in May, because my favorite two classes were unbalanced back then, but now everything is fine. Best MMORPG you'll ever play.

Just pay be a VIP, its worth it, it is worth it now, and it hasn't even gone F2P yet.(Beta doesn't count .)

The dungeon master voice is there because it's part of D&D, sure, it's not as useful as it is in the pen&paper game, but it's there because fans like it. I personally wouldn't change it. :]
Yea I like the voice, it adds quality to the game and follows how the PnP game plays, I never played it on PnP but I can see by the game voice, how it works, the guy tells you where you are, and points things out as if he is the game master, etc.

LOTRO is the same old gameplay found in WOW and EQ, DDO brings action combat where you can aim, dodge, put your shield up, tumble and use a lot more tactics in battle.

Yeah I know about D&D P&P. I've had some friends in my lifetime thst were so crazy for it. That they'd spend a whole Friday night and into Saturday morning playing it. It just wasn't ever for me. I've always been into video games. I Started playing on the Atari 2600, with games like Pong, Breakout, Pac-man, and the infamous E.T. movie game. Then moved on to different console with each new generation.
I have a XBOX 360 today to continue by console tradition, but when Star Wars Galaxies came out. I got into MMOs and some offline PC games, manly things that are PC exclusives. Which most MMOs are, lol.

Also I do understand your point that the fans of D&D P&P would like the Dungeon Master voice, but as I said before.... D&D in any form just isn't for me.
